Got a Job that's the same as my internship - How to show on Resume?

So after an absurd COVID post-graduation unemployment period I finally got a job. It's exactly the same job I already did for a year for internship when I was an undergrad. Same department, same boss, etc. It has a slightly different title (ie: not intern) but I expect my duties and day to day work to be pretty much identical. It's a temporary job though (may or may not turn into something permanent), so I'm not done my job search yet but I think it puts me in a better position than unemployment. Especially a few months from now when COVID has hopefully died down.

I'm really not sure how to update my resume to show this new job. It's the same job, but not. How do you guys do it?

Should I, like, make a completely new job entry and relist company, department, new start date, and then cut and paste most of the bullet points from the internship version to this new one? That wasn't my only internship so I could maybe rename my current section to something like "Internship Work Experience" and make a new section "Work Experience" for the new one. Alternatively, I could make them a single entry with two different time ranges and two titles but the same bullet-points. I'm sure there are tons of other ways too.

Just put it once under work history and beside the job title where you put dates put both separated by semicolon. Here is an example:

Acme Corp
Analyst May 2019 - Jan 2020; Dec 2020 - Present

On my CV, it would appear something like:

CompanyA
Jan - 2000 to Dec 2000 - Computer Consultant (intern)
Jan - 2001 to Present - Computer Consultant (permanent)

The spacing for the job/position is done via tabs on my CV so "Computer Consultant" are aligned underneath one another (and not the space & hyphen shown in the above example).

I agree with this. But I would put it in reverse chronological order.

The latest job always first. My personal opinion.

Actually, you're correct on that. I just reverified my CV and it is in the order you stated so mine actually shows:
CompanyA
Jan. 2001 to Present - Computer Consultant (permanent)
Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2000 - Computer Consultant (intern)

I then describe my duties/accomplishments for mainly the permanent position (but if I feel that something from my intern period needs to be highlighted, I will mention it within the same area without any clarification on when it happened).

For background check purposes, they look at your start and end date.

So you can use the same job, except you can remove the intern title and put in the new title. Date would be the same as when you first started to present.

If there is a significant gap between the internship and your new role, then make seperate entries on resume.

I wouldn't copy and paste the same bullets. Try to phrase them a little differently, a little more "real-job like". More responsibility, i.e. "did this" rather than "helped out with this". I would definitely split them out so it someone doesn't look at it and think the same thing you told us ("oh, he's basically doing the same stuff an intern does").
