Got your .ca domain name yet?

There are now over 900,000 .ca domain names registered and the one million market could be reached by year end.
Last week an individual investor purchased the remaining, approximately 5000, unregistered three letter combinations.
Any unregistered NNN.ca (3 number) names were snapped up shortly after.

Might be a good time to get your .ca

Somebody should have told the Canadian Bankers Assoc., Institute of Chartered Accountants, Criminal Lawyers Assoc. and hundreds of other Canadian Professional Associations. The Royal Bank, Imperial Oil and many others amongst the largest companies in Canada should be made aware as well.

domain harvesters should go straight to hell! along with self-proclaimed seo consultants and marketeers who make junk websites solely for adsense.

A couple of people did exactly that (snapping up all remaining 3-letter domains) with .biz and .us a while back. Not the cleverest investment if you ask me. Yes, it worked for .com, and even .net, but take a look at the prices of 3-letter .biz and .us NOW, not worth the fuss, if you ask me.

The .CA market has NOT been growing as *some* speculators expected, and they are trying REALLY HARD to push it further. No, they are not trying to sell those 3-letter .CA domains; my guess is, they are trying to boost the prices of their high-end (as in 5 figures) .CA domains, by creating an illusion that there is a mature aftermarket.

People assume .com instead of .ca but that doesn't mean it is more prodessional. Now if you were talking about .biz or .info you would have a point.

I just bought my second .ca ... oeltv.ca, I'm on the look out for those organic electrolumo TV's to take over the market...and a nice content-rich site will be in order. So far it's basically just sitting there, but over the next month I should have things running, to prepare for Sony's launch of the first ones.
As for the 3-letters...what retailer wants to buy oos.ca? Oh, Staples...

How about those of us that invest in both domains and real estate?

Meh, already got some... probably more in the future too :)

I think 3-letter (and even 4-letter) .COM domains are high demand, but not so with other TLDs (well, maybe .net and .org too...)

3-letter .COM's are in EXTREMELY high demand, as in you probably won't find any for less than US$5k. (BUT 4-letter .COM's are a totally different story.) .NET's are a bit better, but still basically gone the second somebody offers one for sale, in the $1k range. .ORG's are less so, so you may be able to find one for $less than $500 IF you are lucky. .INFO and .BIZ's are very often offered for $150 or even less.

Now, the more interesting question is the value of 3-letter .CA's. :D

FYI: I have sold a 3-letter .NET for US$5k (WHEN US$1 = CDN$1.5  ), and a few of 3-letter .ORG's for $1k or so.

EDIT: All prices are in US$, which is basically the currency for domain sales, except perhaps for .CA's.

Where can I get these 3
Paolo wrote:Why are they called the Olsen twins if they both have different last names? Mary Kate, and Ashley Olsen. Why are they not called the Kate Twins? or the Kate-Olsen twins? It's also fascinating how 2 kids from different parents looked identical and both played the role of baby michelle on full house and now 20 some years later, they still look identical.

Thank you, I’ll look further into these… might be a sound investment.

EDIT: If not yet taken, where can I buy ABAT. (com) or (ca) ?
