GRC and Rate SuperMarket CashBack and GC's only available to "new" card holders?

I applied for a second MBNA Platinimum plus, was approved and was waiting for the 100.00 Best Buy GC bit more than a month ago
Was aproved, but noticed a delay on getting the Gift Card this time
called them, escalated to Supe who said the offer is only for a "new" card holder... explaining that since I'd already gotten it, I can't get it again.
Thoughts? Is this true, or should I call again or email and try to get someone else?
As side note, saw that GCR has a comparable note as well...same thing for GCR?

Thanks

Must be new. I've churned the MBNA on GCRebates.ca a few times with no issue but I see that comment on their site now. Oh well I guess the wife will have to apply for the next one.

Looks like the GCR restriction is only for MBNA cards right? Did not see it for any of the other.

shoot, I hope I get it on my MBNA Alaska card, which also has this clause (applied end of Nov, don't recall if it was there)...
they better give me my $60, otherwise I'll not use GCR anymore in future...

It is fairly recent. If you slip through the cracks its good, otherwise don't count on them to give it to you manually.

Yeah, really wanted to start collecting Alaska miles (just applied for it once), the GCR rebate was a decent compensation for the yearly fee.

I wonder if creating new GCR accounts would work or if it is based on the final CC application where they would find out that same person has already applied.

It is MBNA who won't pay. Creating another account will not help.

Darn. I wonder if other TD cards will follow suite.

How are churners pacing their Alaska applications? Every 6 months? If so, do you get the prorated yearly fee refunded?
