Grey Goose Smooth Putt (1 oz cocktail + 9 holes mini-putt) - Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver - $21

Deal Link:
Retailer:
Grey Goose
Grey Goose is touring 4 Canadian cities this summer with a $21 promo: 9 hole mini-golf course with 1 oz cocktail.

  • Toronto July 9 – July 18, 2021
  • Calgary August 13 – August 22, 2021
  • Vancouver August 28 – September 6, 2021
  • Montreal July 24 - August 4 2021

Not familiar with the Vancouver/Calgary locations, but the Toronto and Montreal pop-ups are in picturesque parts of the city/downtown. (Toronto's is probably the larger greenspace next to Harbroufront Centre, with CN Tower in the background)

Max 4 people per booking spot; all equipment is sanitized before/after use. 18 or 19+ depending on province.

For Toronto I see the weekend (and weekday evening) spots filling up quickly. (7/10 Saturday is already fully booked) 9 holes at Partee Putt cost about $15 pre-Covid, so $21 for 9 holes + a cocktail + unique outdoor popup seems like an okay deal.

Thanks for sharing!

Toronto looks like a pretty good venue

Vancouver is in an Impark lot between Steamworks and Waterfront Station (lol)

Is this really a deal? It’s interesting but I don’t see the value, unless miniputt prices have skyrocketed.

This seems like an odd marketing decision. Grey Goose is high-end alcohol while mini-golf is for low-end golf.

Before the pandemic, a booze brand sponsored event like this would have been free..

Now it's $21?! WTH is this doing in Hot Deals.

9 holes at the downtown Toronto miniputt (Partee Putt) was about $15 pre-Covid, You could drink and play at Partee Put, but cocktails were definitely not $6. Face With Tears Of Joy

For Toronto the location + pricing make it an alright deal; sent this over to a friend and we decided to book a spot ASAP. I can't vouch if this is a good deal for the other cities (RFD-ers can chime in)

Ok maybe. In Calgary adults can do full 18 holes for $14. Add in a $7 drink and still a better deal than this promo.

Prices have skyrocketed.

Honestly this isn't a horrible deal. It's a unique thing that could be fun for a date night type of deal. Yes you can find places cheaper or on off hours but for a one off thing it's not a bad deal.

Edit: noticed it's for 9 holes. Yeah not as great. People are paying for the experience.

Something this sponsored should ideally be free, no?

Unusual that they charge $21 for a small mini-course and a cocktail that is probably worth like $8.

You guys also have fewer to no Covid restrictions right in Calgary?

We have no indoor dining, bowling, movies, miniputt, etc in Toronto atm. *shrugs shoulders*

Sure as of today that's mostly true. Calgary still has masking in place. Not really germane to the convo about this "deal" though....

Partee Putt in downtown Toronto is actually an indoor mini putt venue. (27 holes indoors)

So for downtown Toronto at least, there's no comparable mini putt option in the near future with our covid restrictions. And I already mentioned their pre-Covid pricing vs this current promo.

If Calgary is opening up and there's other mini putt options available, this may not be a deal for your city and that's fine.

How is this not a free thing? pre-covid had stuff like this all the time, you shouldn't be paying GreyGoose $$ for a promotional/marketing event.

If you make it free, you’re encouraging people to congregate in a small area. Charging something means you filter out a lot of the people who are just wanting free stuff. With covid still lingering around, it is a safer decision to make.

Being said $21 is a bit much for a drink and 9 holes of golf in a parking lot. Half that would be better

I think said freebie events were already going the way of the dodo pre-covid. Covid just sped it up. In Toronto for example (I attended all these events)

2014: Absolut Maker Fest - one night only, free Asbolut cocktails, live music (incl. Q-Tip), and art/crafts demos at 99 Sudbury. We paid $0 that entire evening out.
2016: LCBO Bar Zero. At the spot where Bar Poet is today, the LCBO ironically hosted a dry event featuring mocktails (from actual Barchef bartenders) but with food from Buca. (Including a Spanish jamon!) Again, paid $0 for this night out.
2017: LCBO Pop-Up @ King/Portland. Different product ambassador demos every evening that fall/Xmas. I personally attended all 3 LMVH events with free champagne and charcuterie. You could pay for whiskey tasting flights daily.
2020: Belgian Moon art festival @ Stackt - free quarter pint of BM with a free tote bag. You could pay regular prices for a proper pint.

I'm normally in the loop for said free alcohol promo events, so please share any similar events that I missed back in 2018-9. I feel like there was nothing to miss, since most of these promos were switching to a paid model already. Switching to confectionary, places like the Magnum Pleasure Store in Yorkville or that KitKat Chocolatery pop-up on Queen West had customizable ice cream and chocolate respectively to promote their brands, but were still a pay-to-play model.

Toronto build in progress - and as I predicted on that greenspace next between Queens Quay Terminal and Harbrourfront centre. Most weekend and weeknight timeslots are fully booked or down to a solo spot now.

If you head East to Pickering it is a lot cheaper of course. 18 holes. Also kids can play too, unlike the Grey Goose event. Took my children a few weeks back.

Buy a bottle of Grey Goose and chug in parking lot ;)

Respectfully (as I always appreciate the effort posters go through to pass things on-I never downvote unless theres a malicious intent), this feels as ice cold as a Grey Goose on the rocks :)

I think the suggestions and negativity is that this should be a free mini golf and optional sit at the bar and purchase type of thing. While I agree “free alcohol” events haven’t happened in a while, this is a pretty standard promo event and seems to be Grey goose taking advantage of people looking for any excuse and option for a night out. You can debate the value all you want but it seems to me that it’s a 5-10 minute pop up mini golf experience and a quick cocktail so I’m not sure that’s the “experience” people feel worth heading downtown to pay for. Just my take.
