In ground pool vacuum or cleaner

My dad is looking for a new pool vacuum as his kreepy krauly or whatever it's called failed over the past few seasons.

I did some research but didn't really come up with anything substantial to make a purchase.

Any thoughts? Advice?

I was hoping to under 250 if that's possible.

The pool is 32 X 16 feet and rectangular shaped as well.

Thanks

The Hayward Navigator is probably the cheapest option available & the most simple yet efficient type of pool auto vacuum.

We've had our Navigator since 2006 & it's still working great. We've had to replace the 4 little cork feet on the bottom of it but that's it.

You're looking to pay from $300 up depending on where you buy it. I'd check Pioneer Pools & your local pool supply shops.

Unless you actually run your pump 24x7, I'd get a robot. Three times your price though, but way better. Cleans my dirty pool in 1.5 hours, doesn't need the pump on, and moves more water in that time than my pump does in 4 hours. Something to consider if you can adjust the budget

Maybe I'll just email him this thread and buy some car care products instead.

Get a robot. It's way better as he can enjoy the time doing something else instead.

Can you guys recommend a good robot? I'm looking at the ones in Costco, simply because I hear these things break like crazy.

I've got a brand new MX-8 if he wants it, I ended up buying a robotic cleaner instead.
