If your company does Venggo (or something similar), they actually give 10c and above for cheap. Im sure I got a 10c card off before and it lasted for a year I think

I thought "Fuel-Discount Card 25% off" meant 25% off fuel, not 25% off the card. So you're saving a maximum of $25 on 2000L of fuel - at $1.109/L that's $0.011 per litre savings or 1%.

Also 6% eBates is only for Local Activities, Dining, Health, Beauty & Spas; goods is only 2%.

Do you have to scan this card before every transaction at the pump?

Or can you link it to your petro card number, and subsequently link your petro card number to your RBC credit card so the discount processes automatically?
Esso is outdated AF. You can't link these to the SpeedPass keychain tags BUT you can link it to the SpeedPass+ app. So if you pay by App you can earn Esso points + apply this to the purchase (I don't think the app supports optimum yet). Otherwise if you don't use the app yes you have to scan this every time INSIDE to pay.

App supports optimum for 1-2 months now

Yes you can link your PC Optimum card; however, it's esso OR optimum points, NOT AND.

Do these cards go on sale often?

I wonder if 25$ off if we buy the 2000 l is good enough

No... this kind of card is never a good deal unless it's free. You'd have to buy 2000L of gas to save $25 dollars. That's over 2000 dollars spent. Plus the $75 on this card, you are only saving 25/2075 = 1.2% maximum. Tangerine credit card offers 2% up front, no purchase required (and so is many other cards).

I am not disputing that the minimal value from these cards makes them not really all that worth the upfront spend. However, my understanding of how these would work is once you have the card, you swipe it when you buy gas at Esso to get the extra discount. You then swipe the credit card of your choosing to actually pay for the (discounted) gas. So you could stack this card with your Tangerine cash back for extra savings.

Edit: I would also add that while it doesn’t make a massive difference, the more accurate math is $100/$2075 in your example. The card has $100 of value on it, and you spend $75 to get the card plus $2000 in gas.

But that’s not how these cards work

These cards brings down the price by 5c per l

So if the gas is 1.30 then it’s like if you past 1.25 per l so you can still use the tangerine

With PC WC you save 3C per l if you add that cards it’s like you save 8c per l total?

I know 25$ over 2k l is not a lot but it’s better then 0 no?
