GST/HST New Housing Rebates -- Update
Hi All,
Here's an update on the current status of HST new housing rebate applications:
(1) The processing of HST housing rebate applications have been suspended since mid-March.
(2) Audits of HST rebate applications also appear to have been put on hold since mid-March.
(3) Some HST housing rebate cheques have been mailed out by CRA in the past two months, depending on how far along an application was at the time of the suspension.
(4) It is still important to meet all applicable deadlines when applying for the HST housing rebate and responding to subsequent inquiries from CRA.
