GTA Restaurants for HK Travelers

Hey guys. My in-laws (family of 3 with a 13 year old) are here in GTA and for a family that had access to good HK food. What restaurant recommendations would you recommend we take them to?

Raw fish is out since the adults dont eat it. And no Chinese food.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

To accommodate the 13 yr old, how about Italian ? Pizza and /or pastas should work and the adults will also have a decent selections as well.

GTA
Steakhouses, Jerk chicken places (mainly takeout though), Burger's Priest (still the best burger I've had in the GTA), lots of good Indian places in the 905 west area.

Can't go wrong with Scaddabush. My HK relatives were super satisfied and kept exclaiming about how cheap it was as they've had comparable pastas in HK that were a lot more expensive.

Steakhouse, steak is so cheap here compared to Hkg.

Terroni especially the Adelaide one is always good for decent food and ambience

I didnt know international travelers were allowed into the country. But in HK, AYCE buffets are unaffordable. Go japanese AYCE and they will be talking about this for years.

to clarify, you want a recommendation for HK food in the GTA for travelers from HK?

Something tells me they will end up disappointed.

I'm reading a recommendation for GTA restaurants for HK travellers and they specifically don't want Chinese food suggestions.

Oh no no. Basically what good restaurants will they enjoy here that is NOT Chinese. Since HK has good food places, Id want them to enjoy where we take them here.

Good Korean places like sariwon , seems we get much better Korean food in general than in Hkg and vietnamese pho as well

If you can get reservations, Alo and alobar are very good and a fraction of the price of similar quality is Hkg

Thank you. We sort of narrowed it down to Japanese, Korean or Italian, we will ask what they feel like eating.

They are Vietnamese Chinese so they like Vietnamese food. But we had it recently at our in-laws house.

You can check out the Food Truck thing at Hillcrest/STC, lots of unhealthy North American food that's not available in Hong Kong.

Carribbean food here is awesome as well and is familiar to an HK person's palette (pork/chicken on rice).

How about taking them to Greektown [there are some decent patios there as well if the weather is nice]. After dinner, you can walk around and check out some of the shops there.

I like Pantheon because the servers have always treated me like friends by "giving" me [I'm paying for it probably LOL] free dips, free honey cake and even giving me free shots of their favorite booze [if you talk em up a bit]. Encourage you to consider ordering a variety of proteins like pork, lamb, octopus, grilled calamari, fried calamari etc so you can taste different things
We're all bozos on the bus until we find a way to express ourselves...

Failure is always an option...just not the preferred one!
