If Sony planned to be wildly more expensive (Or just not base pricing on Series X) they wouldn't have been doing this cold war dance for the last six weeks.
I'm going with $599/$529.

I would expect they will just let the base PS4 at a new lower price bundled with some digital games do the fight for the 1080p budget conscious person for the next year. Perhaps a hardware refresh for it as well.

So Europeans are paying quite a bit more than Canadians in USD equivalent. I think Microsoft anticipates they will just break even or maybe take a small loss in some markets like Canada but they will make up for it in other markets like Europe.

The Canadian pricing will be interesting as we're a small market compared to the US. I'd bet good money that the PS5 standard edition will cost $499 USD. MS gave Canadians a break by pricing the X about $60 under the exchange rate. Who knows if Sony will do the same.
