I think it'll be a $100 dollar gap between both versions as most people here have already posted.

Disk - $599 cad
Digital - $499 cad

I think $400 USD is probably too low for a PS5, given their wide advantage in anticipation levels (before this week, at least). I think they may have planned to do $100 difference between the disc/digital models, but Xbox coming in on the low side, they'll keep the disc version down a bit to match.

Sony are less likely to match Xbox's Canadian price than if it were the other way around. They'll probably go $20-ish below exchange, which today would be. . .

Digital $450 USD / $580 CAD
Disc $500 USD / $640 CAD

PS5 Disc - $629 CAD
PS5 Digital - $429 CAD

I'm guessing SONY wants $20-$30 more for updated controller with speaker/mic and haptic feedback...

If Sony planned to be wildly more expensive (Or just not base pricing on Series X) they wouldn't have been doing this cold war dance for the last six weeks.

I'm going with $599/$529.

I would expect they will just let the base PS4 at a new lower price bundled with some digital games do the fight for the 1080p budget conscious person for the next year. Perhaps a hardware refresh for it as well.

Standard edition - $599.99
Digital edition - $499.99

The Canadian pricing will be interesting as we're a small market compared to the US. I'd bet good money that the PS5 standard edition will cost $499 USD. MS gave Canadians a break by pricing the X about $60 under the exchange rate. Who knows if Sony will do the same.

I still think $599 Digital and $699 Disc.

I think Microsoft is taking a big loss on each console sold (especially on Series S) and with All Access + Gamepass subscriptions can recoup the loss faster. I don't think Sony can eat the hardware cost as much as MS can out of the gate.

It's funny how MS is giving us Canadians a break on the USD/CAD exchange rate, but in Europe, they are basically doing $1 = 1€ when the actual USD/€ exchange rate is 1.18 as of today (In Europe the Series S is 299€ and Series X is 499€). So Europeans are paying quite a bit more than Canadians in USD equivalent. I think Microsoft anticipates they will just break even or maybe take a small loss in some markets like Canada but they will make up for it in other markets like Europe.

I'm pretty sure this is because the Euro price (and the GBP price) both include Value Added Tax whereas USD and CAD do not.

Yikes I'll take the disc version lol..or wait it's $100 less without hmm Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Cold Sweat

Probably matches the Xbox price so $599 for disc, depends on whether all digital is $50 or $100US less.

Sony will have to match MS's pricing, disc $599 CAD. If they go for more than that people will be more inclined to buy Series X. This is a razor and handle business.
