Depending on where CAD is when they announce the price, maybe $600 USD would go down to $750 CAD. But probably not even that.
Zero chance it will be straight exchange rate.

$599USD with the game. But now, no game. Also, rules said that might not be the actual price of the unit. Covered on several YouTube channels...

I predict $599.99 for the Xbox Series X and PS5 with disc drive. $459.99 for the Series S and $499.99 for the PS5 with no disc drive.

Probably true, given Xbox's history. But they'll bring it down $50 CAD at most, not $120. They're not going to give Canadians a special great deal compared to the US.

If they decide to match XSX to PS5 in the US, maybe Xbox will undercut by $20-30 CAD here.
If it's something like PS5 $600 USD / XSX $550 USD, then they'll probably stay closer to actual exchange for the difference here. ($50 USD = $66 CAD -> $70 CAD less if it were today)

699 would be like original ps3 price, or was like 649 in 2007 or something. More selling if its 599 as same price as the xbone x on launch. More sellable at 599. If PS5 is cheaper and undercut, then xbox is pretty out this gen. PS mostbpf the time has better exclusives anyhow.

I think we might get a break in terms of FX rate. I think a 499usd/599cdn is optomistic. 499usd/699cdn might be too much. Asking people to plunk down 700 bucks for a console.

I'm thinking 649.99 cdn. Psychologically it's not 700 :)

I'm guessing most of you havent followed the Hot Chips presentation from Microsoft. Neither consoles are going to be cheap, which is why we've seen both Sony/Microsoft keeping their poker faces on when it comes to pricing.

I've been getting that feeling for months now, that both consoles will be priced relatively similar and will cost more than a majority of people are assuming. The price announcement delays aren't just about trying to see who flinches first, but to tear off the bandaid at the last possible moment so it stings less. If they had announced prices months ago, it would be that much longer out on social media for hyperactive influencers and such to moan over. These will both be purchased in any case.
c'mon get happy!

This might vary by publisher, but some are already doing it for "cross-gen" editions. Take-Two/2K with NBA 2K21 and Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that I'm aware of so far.

Others like Xbox first-party, Ubisoft, CD Projekt are seemingly sticking to $80--for now, anyways.

i don't mind for cross-gen, if and only if they are going to take advantage of the new hardware. If not, then they can go and ......

So this came up today
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier ... tails/amp/

And then, there's another tweet coming from reddit that said retail prize value with extra controller and stuff at $560 USD so it's either going to be $499 or $599 USD... We're talking $700 Canadian. I'm hoping it's $499 USD so either $549 or $599 Canadian

Like I have mentioned above, if it is that high, it is unlikely it will be an exact exchange rate. Then again, people have no problem forking over $1200 for a new phone or $1400 for an iPad.
