Gutter Quotes

Anyone have some good gutter companies? We put a metal roof on last year and I'm not sure if that matters at all or not for gutter removal/install. We got some quotes last year house is ~2K SQ Ft two storey with one car garage.

Quotes were 7K-9K, seemed high but not sure what to even look for in this regard.

QUOTE#1
- aluminium vented soffit & ribbed fascia 4,225.00T
- 5" seamless aluminium eavestrough with hangers & screws and 3"x 3" large square
downpipes with elbows & straps (locations to be confirmed)

3,081.70T
- remove & dispose of existing siding, soffit, fascia, eavestrough & downpipe 0.00T
Colour - WHITE soffit, fascia & eavestrough, with STANDARD siding colour 0.00T
* To install 'T-Rex' Gutter Clean Continuous Hanger System in the new eavestrough would be
an additional $1208.20 tax included. (please visit the product website at www.alu-rex.com)
.

Total $8,126.51

Quote#2

I'll have to get another quote, I'm not sure these quotes were all given based on google satellite, I'll update once I get that information, our gutters are in rough shape especially after the roof install last year.

Appreciated!

I would only go by a linear foot quote. Anyone who doesn't provide that information probably didn't provide an accurate quote.

Do you really need to replace the soffit and fascia or just the actual gutters? Are you worried about not having the colours completely match?

Yeah I’d tend to agree… not sure what it is with Eavestrough companies though but out of the 5-6 quotes I got, only 2 did actual measurements… the rest were off Google satellite. All were highly recommended and there wasn’t a lot of variance in the price between quotes… lowest was one that did measurement, but he turned up half hour late to the quote half asleep. I see him doing a job currently elsewhere and not a lot has happened in the 3-4 days he’s been there Face With Tears Of Joy

Eaves and gutter is priced per linear foot, and then plus downspout drops. Then maybe an adjustment if a lot of corners or especially complicated but its actually pretty easy to price.

Gutters are totally a DIY project if you got the tools and aren't scared of heights.

where do you get them from? I just had mine does last year and they roll them out of this giant machine to size. i can't see how that would be a DIY job.

The installation can be a diyer but to manufacture seamless gutters that can measure over 30' long is not. I have yet to find a place that even rents the material to manufacture and even so, I don't know if it's cost effective.

I once found a place that would supply seamless evestrough, but it was almost the same price as having them installed.

I did mine for approx $2.8k. but just the gutters and downspouts, not the soffits. Approx 2800 sq ft two story house with 2 car garage with 4 downspouts. I also did not do the gutter guard which everyone seems desperate to sell. I trimmed back my trees instead because I am less worried about cleaning the gutters and was more worried about raccoons and squirrels jumping onto the roof - next step would be for them to find a way into the attic which is a costly fix as two of my neighbors found out. I did mine during lockdown so my quote might have been higher because parts and labor were expensive and hard to find.

If you're wanting seamless then that's a little different. I've done a ton doing 10 ft sections with joints and they "may" start leaking after 15 years at some joints which is an easy fix. The secret is to buy a good sealant for the joints and not care what it looks like on the inside of the joints.

For reference, I was quoted about 2k for just my garage recently while I can do it myself in a day at most for $600 in materials.
