Do Haier AC units have the same failure rate as their lovely TV's?
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

Those that got it over a month ago, will Costco adjust the price now?

No their price adjustment policy is 30 days nowadays.

Return is 90 days though. So you can just return it. and get a new one.

It’s “Subject to Review” after 30 days AFAIK. considering people can always return it and get the new one, I don’t see why they wouldn’t adjust it.

Anyway, I submitted the form for price adjustment. I’ll post the result.

I still have my Haier AC from 2012 running like a beast, and bought this one as well.

I have 8 Haier TVs at work used to monitor manufacturing lines, and none have failed. We also bih Changhong TVs , and those have survived as well.

Haier is incredibly high bang for the buck without sacrificing quality or reliability.

Costco reviews for Danby are terrible, Haier reviews as far better.

What was the issue you had with your Haier product and when did you buy it?

You definitely stand a good chance of getting it price adjusted if you are still within the return window. I did the same thing with a dash cam that was past price adjustment period but still eligible for refund. I emailed Costco and asked whether they prefer that I refund and repurchase or just refund me the difference. They chose the latter and obviously more reasonable option, although I am aware not all stores exercise such common sense. It's why I don't hesitate dealing with Costco. Good luck.

Thanks - I think I’ll give it a try too. Mind if I ask where I can find the form for price adjustment?

Been searching for a second portable AC unit and came across this on clearance at Costco.
A quick search showed the last time it was on sale was $469 also at Costco, but they're probably clearing it out for end of summer now.

This is a dual hose unit so it should be more efficient than the single hose units. The only concern is whether it is super loud or not, although the Engadget reviews it as one of the quietest units (questionable?). It also used to be a top pick on a Wirecutter post.

This needs to vent outside with a big tube I guess. Has anyone set one of these up with a sliding glass patio door or casement (side cranking) window?
