Has anyone ever replaced a basement drywall ceiling with a suspended ceiling
Ive seen some ads and pages with the new style suspended ceilngs, and on here as well from Costco

I have had a suspended ceiling in the past, but it was an older house with the usual foam type inserts, and the black plastic hangers.
While kinda ugly, it was defintly useful for any work in the basement. And we find as we do things, we are always working around the drywall, future patching/painting, etc Or of course easy access to any repairt of plumbing, etc
We plan on living in our current home for awhile, and toying with the idea of replacing the basement ceiling with something above. We only have a 8 foot ceiling, and it seems these new styles work out that would be the same height as drywall.
Has anyone ever done an install in a finished basement of this? I know theres more to it then just ripping stuff down, since then you need to worry about all the current potlights, lighting and ceiling fans.
As well if tis is done have the option of using roxul sound batts in the ceiling to stop sound.
We also may wait if we have any water damage from a pipe leak, etc. So just toying with the idea right now
