Has anyone tried to open a Scotia iTrade account recently? Taking forever..

I tried to submit an application for Scotia iTrade so I could begin trading, and had to submit some paperwork to a Scotiabank branch so they could mail it to iTrade. It's been a few weeks now and still no account.

Has anyone else tried to open an iTrade account recently? How long did it take?

I currently only use a Wealthsimple Trade account (it opened fast), but I'm less trustful of it with large sums of money.

They're running behind with new account approvals. In my case, it took about 3 weeks from the time they received my application.

Thanks for the response. Did you have to submit any paperwork to the branch? Is that when your 3 weeks started?

No, I submitted everything online and had the account created the same day, but needed to wait the three weeks for approval to start trading; I was already a Scotia customer though. You can call them through the general iTrade number to check on the status, they've been pretty courteous when I called.

Yes, I have also recently applied to open an account. It has taken a few weeks of back and forth to get all the forms done properly and now I think I am finished from my side unless they tell me otherwise. I will be following up with them in a week to find out the status.
