[Visions Electronics] Hauz 1.7 L Stainless/Glass Electric Kettle $18/$31 For 2 ISPU

Image

Visions has these Hauz Stainless/Glass electric kettles again for two days for $18 In Store.
You can order two online and get free shipping or two online for ISPU and get another $5 off for $31 + tax. The other colors are also at $18, but these are the nicer looking ones and they have a higher msrp.
I have one and so far it has been good. The only downside is that it is only 1000 watts so it might take a little longer if you boil full pots consistently.
Otherwise it is great for $15.50, it even pours smoothly unlike many brands of these.

7/1

Deal was extended until 7/7

Just add two to your cart. Click Checkout, choose pick up in store, and a store with stock. You should see a $5 discount then in the total as you check out.
This applies in various amounts to any items that are free shipped at Visions, and are available for ISPU.

The Hauz 1.7 liter Kettle features a blue light to illuminate the glass content. It includes a convenient cord storage to keep your counter-top clear, a 360-degree cordless base to move to any angle, and Boil Dry protection automatic shut off.

I'm actually in the market for one of these right now. How does this compare to the ones from Oster and Hamilton Beach? Who first invented this illuminated glass design?

i bought one Insignia brand from Best Buy couple months back for $30. Absolutely love it.

I am going to buys this one as a backup, can't go wrong with $18 . Shape looks identical to Insignia.

Does anyone remember if the one from Costco illuminates? Or just clear glass?

Great price if you just like the look, but this kettle is only 1000w rather than the 1500w that's more common, so it won't boil as quickly. This important spec is deliberately missing from the Visions description, but you can find it at: https://www.amazon.ca/Hauz-AGK666-Stain ... B07YX78PHC

In case you were wondering if the glass sides and stainless steel bottom prevent plastic from coming into contact with the boiling water and adding a chemical taste, unfortunately no. The top is plastic, and the boiling water condenses there and runs down into the kettle. Also there's a plastic ring separating the stainless steel and the glass because they expand at different rates. I have the equivalent Hamilton Beach model, and the water it boiled tasted of plastic for the first week.
