Help choosing Macbook Air

I think I know the answer, but wanted to get some opinions.

2019 Macbook Air (Refurbished) $1039 - https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/product/F ... space-grey
8GB RAM, 256 SSD Hard Drive, and the 1.6GHz dual-core 8th-gen Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz, with 4MB L3 cache processor. Also has the dreaded keyboard.

2020 Macbook Air (new) $1169 - https://www.apple.com/ca_edu_93120/shop ... 2ghz-256gb
8GB RAM, 256 SSD Hard Drive, and the 1.1GHz dual-core 10th-generation Intel Core i3, Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz processor. Also has the new keyboard.

Inclined to go with the newer one, but wonder about the processor differences. Thanks.

2020 air is MUCH MUCH better than even PRO to some degree. NO brainer, get 2020 check youtube reviews or search (I replied to this with benchmark in another thread)
I post DAILY HOUSING SUPPLY:

IMO Supply is the only metric that matters in GTA housing market!

yeah you would have to discount the old one at least $300 more for me to take a chance with that old keyboard.
Rich or poor, paying full price for anything is for suckers. Be an informed purchaser by searching RFD for the all-time-low price.

Also looking into the new air.
Thinking of upgrading to the i5 for $150 more.
Would like to also upgrade to 512gb but not sure if it’s worth the price.

Do these MacBooks ever go on sale outside of when new model comes out?

I ordered today. Went with the 2020 and upgraded to the i5.

I don't think they ever really go on sale, but sometimes there are promotions that include other items. Usually near the start of a school year.

Sorry to hijack your thread. I'm looking at a 16" MacBook Pro with upgrades. Did you purchase the Apple Care with yours?

No, I didn't. Haven't had issues with previous Macbooks. Hopefully that continues.

Always buy AppleCare. It's barely some $200 for the Air

FYI The back to school promotion was from July 9th to September 26 last year. There was some restrictions on which macs were eligible.

The Educational promotion on laptops is usually the over the ear Beats headphones. You can always resell them
Another good time to buy is Black Friday, but it's just a giftcard and you can't combine with Educational discount
