Help me identify this plant?

Have this plant in my backyard, and I'm looking to transplant it to another spot. No clue what it is since the last owner planted it but it is very resilient. Can anyone help? I would like to read up on how to properly transplant it. Thanks!

Just so you know, they grow like weeds and you'll have to shear them every month or so to keep them in check.

I planted mine a few years back and it's hardly grown - haven't even sheared/pruned it once let alone every month.
