Help! Odour issues.

Just got a house. It's empty, no mold. But it smells of must and body odour. I'm desperate. How do I get rid of it?

Thank you.

Best bet...

Clean it
EVERY.SURFACE

That’s the easy cheap part

If it still stinks after that ...
You gotta put in even more time & money

Tear out / replace any carpeting
And paint
EVERY WALL, CEILING, TRIM ... CUPBOARD / CLOSET & DOOR

It’s a sure fire way to kill most odours
Anything truly bad beyond that (skunk spray, dead critters, backed up sewage etc)
And you have to go to the third level
And take out the drywall
Which can absorb / hold on to the really worst of smells

Good luck

Hopefully it’s just a first level stink job

Did the previous own have pets ? When I purchased my house I found evidence of urine under the basement laminate floors so I ripped it all out. I agree with the above post, rip out all the carpet as well.

Clean and paint.
Current cell plans:
Fido $15 3gb
Koodo $40 for 5GB Public Mobile migration plan.

Affordable wireless is possible, just takes some creativity.

Rent a few Ozone machines and blast the whole place.

Clean every single inch of the room and run an ozone machine in there for 12-24 hours (be mindful of ozone hazards). If that doesn't work, then you need to repaint the place with odor locking primer like KILZ.

Source: I bought a unit with smoke odors. Didn't need to repaint, the thorough cleaning (i hired professional cleaners) with the ozone treatment seems to have fixed it.

You’ve eliminated all variables but one - must be you.
