Help with winback steps Fido/Freedom

I've never done a port over, so I'm hoping someone can give some advice in getting a winback offer from Fido.
Are these the correct steps?

1) I received a SIM from Freedom.
2) Now do port my Fido number and I sign a cheap pre-paid plan with Freedom
3) Then wait for call back from Fido
4) Call Fido back if I don't hear anything

I recommend waiting for the winback to call you. Calling Fido may give the impression that you want to come back.

2) Cheap, but I'd recommend getting post-paid. That way when you port back out, you only pay for prorated days of service as opposed to a whole month's worth.

That doesn't mean you will actually get a winback call. I was with Fido and ported to PM, never got call back. So, there is a chance you might not get it. I'd rather check some promotions and move to different but similar provider that is already better than Fido gives you, like Koodo or Virgin. Then if you get a callback, great but if you don't you are still OK.
