Canon T5i (Body Only) - $499.99 [or $492 with FS/BB Price Match]

Deal Link:
Price:
499.99
Expiry:
July 3, 2014
The price for T5i has been steadily on decline as this camera is set for its annual replacement (slated August/September?) - however, looking in the past for other T series camera, $499 body is considered a hot deal! IMO This is probably close to the lowest price you can get on this camera prior it being replaced.

High point of the camera includes high resolution touch screen interface, 9 AF cross type auto-focus (adopted from 60D) and all-around tested performance of maturing Canon APS-C sensor. Unless you're planning to shoot a lot of video with this camera, T5i should be a great pick if you're looking to either upgrade from older camera or just getting started with DSLR.

Also - as this is a body only deal, you can save $100-$200 and get yourself a decent non-kit lens elsewhere.

Shows "not in stock" for me so price match won't fly.

Who has better glass? And more third options for glass at decent prices? N or C?

I called them, they said you can place the order, lock in the price and wait until it's back in stock.

You can get the SL1 at Aden Camera (in Toronto) for $439.00.

Is the t5i better? *edit* - nevermind, saw a couple of youtube compare videos, the t5i is better.

You could make the case the new Sigma stuff is comparable but for much, much less. And in some cases, better.

This thing is basically a rehash of the T4i which isn't that much ahead of the T3i.

Holding out til the 70D becomes a bit more affordable (my GX1 is more than enough until then IMO)

just read all the reviews or just type in google: t5i vs d3300.. You'll see that Nikon wins hands down.

You can find the Nikon D3300 with the 18-55 lens for 550$

Not when it comes to autofocus. 9 crosstype on the T5i + silent focusing with STM lenses. Video mode is also superior on the T5i. There are other small things which make T5i a better camera.
For most people who are looking at images on 1080p monitor, it will be difficult to tell the difference between the two cameras. T5i is more of a D5200 competitor.

And that 18-55mm lens is not really a good lens.

Look at the cons. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikon-d3300/12

The T5i deal I posted a few weeks ago with 18-135mm STM (which is a good lens) for $691 is much better.

Not really. The T4i kit comes with EF-S18-55mm. The T5i with 18-135mm STM for $691 is much better.
