I usually don't watch this stuff but caught some bleeped out, possibly fake altercation between Chris Rock and Will Smith... you be the judge. Here it is unedited...

Caution - Foul Language

It looked like an "actor punch" to me but let me know what you think. Looked like Rock was tearing up a bit on the live feed I was watching (which was clearer than this video).

And what a bad look for Will. I usually like the guy but he went down a few pegs here. Guy is a maniac, 100% uncalled for. He laughed at it initially but reacted like a loose dog when his wife didnt take it too kindly. I dont think that look from her was for him to attempt to knock him out on live tv. Embarrassing.

Chris Rock shook up was definitely real when Smith started screaming.

Punch looked choreographed though, Rock seemed to move before the punch was on the way. Smith looked like he was smiling while walking back to his seat.

Gotta get the show some ratings I guess. They ARE actors. Some of the other presenters were making fun of it afterwards.

Yes I heard something about that, it was definitely a joke in poor taste. She looked offended at that joke... aren't they separated?

Pretty low for Rock to do a joke on a medical condition.

Don't blame Will but this was his night and he got the wrong spotlight on him.

That was simple assault. It's 2022, it doesn't matter if someone raped your sister, broke into your house, or verbally insulated your Mom, hitting someone as a response is assault.

Will should have stood up and yelled out to Chris, my wife is going through an illness, that's why her hair is gone, that's very insensitive Chris!!

Chris would have apologized, done.

Guess what, I didn't know she had a illness I thought the joke was funny until I learned about it on the web.

Jada PS is not that famous anymore, who follows what illness she has.

Also, people will illness also have a sense of humour. Lots of cancer patients joke about it, it's the best way to get through tough times imo

Wonder if he's too rich to be arrested for assault? Rock probably wouldn't press charges anyway.

Wow. I agree poor taste for making that joke (if he knew about the medical condition) but even so Will Smith was completely out of line. Rock could barely talk after, didn't look staged to me.

Ironic part is, if Will didn't do/say anything, nobody would've paid attention or remembered that comment. Now everyone's going to remember it and all attention will be on Jada's head. Dumb move.

For some weird reason, Jada is a target for Rock in 2016 as well about she will never be invited to the Oscar. Don't know if there's beef beyond what's on screen. She went public about her condition in 2018,

Yes, I guess he's made jokes about her before. Maybe there is some backstory about this... I don't follow the TMZ style stuff, maybe someone can fill this in.

One, Chris knows better and not that type of comedian to make joke about her condition.
Two, even if he did, Will is not that type of person to act that way in public, especially, during Academy awards?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is Jada's medical condition that much different from any male suffering from baldness? Green light for them to smack someone the next time a bald joke comes their way again?

Plenty of jokes were thrown their way when their whole open marriage details came to light. But a joke on her hair is what sets them off. Wow.

From what I understand, Smith was upset about Chris' joke about his wife's bald head, which is caused by a medical condition. A non life threatening medical condition, unless you live in movie-land in which case it is,

The fact that Smith's wife bangs other men openly is not upsetting to Smith but a joke is speaks volumes.

Poor form for Smith. The joke would have been forgotten about instantly, Will's stupidity...not so much! Chris Rock is the bigger man here but I think he should file charges and get a couple of millions from Smith for Ukraine!
