holes in the ground of my backyard

Hi
Please see attached picture. I see fast moving look like flies flying around these holes and sometime I see them land inside these holes but very fast to catch or see how they look like. Any idea what are these? Should I be worry etc. Thanks a lot.

Image is blurry when trying to focus in.

If it's ants, could be like what previous posters said.
Could it be carpenter ants? Regardless, destroy the nest.

Look more like the little ground nesting bees

"solitary species are not aggressive insects even though females do have sting. These bees will not attempt to sting humans unless handled. Most activity at nest sites in early spring is of males looking for females to mate with – male bees cannot sting"

Can you compare your catch to the photo on the second link?

Ants don't usually have fuzzy fat bodies.

If ground bees, I would let them live. we need bees.
