New activations only is so frustrating. I've been with telus since 99 and have been buying my own devices for years now because of my old fav 10 plan with 6g. Just recently they offered me a free iphone SE to sign up again with no change to plan or cost. So I took phone to give to my lady because my phone was already good and she needed one bad. So now I have a device balance of like 470 and can't jump ship. Literally two weeks ago I did this. My luck. And I don't even have daytime calling ffs.

Don't need it since I have a Canada US plan with 9gb for $65/m with Videotron, but it's nice to finally see some good plans at decent rates available in Canada without jumping through hoops

Boxing day is coming so you might want to get the $85 plan and wait for the boxing price on the phones.

1) Get any smartphone
2) Future date the activation until Dec 20th
3) Wait until boxing day
4) Do an exchange. (within 14 days without any usage limits as of Dec 1st)
5) Choose the best phone with the best price. Usually $0 for iPhone 8+ on Large tab or Premium Tab

Note:
If you are doing this, you cannot switch back to $60 BYOD after Dec 18th.
If you are not doing this, you won't be able to get the special phone deals on Boxing week.
Hmm. So if we don't use your game plan and try to get a discounted phone on boxing day, they'll force us to get an in-market plan of the day ? Knowing them, this 10GB plan will be long gone and it'll be something silly like $80 for 3gb again.

any success with that ?
There is no code. You actually have to be a Loblaws employee or be friends with one who will sign up for you.

Yes Koodo also has launched $55/mo for 3GB but for $5 more I'll take 10GB

Just signed up with Freedom Mobile on the friends and family discount (35% off)...Wonder if it's worth paying more for better service. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
