[Home Depot] $119 (~40% off) RIDGID NXT 53L (14 Gal.) 6.0 Peak HP Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum

This beastly Ridgid 14 gallon shop vacuum is a pretty hot deal right now. Basically 40% or $79 off the regular priced SKU - and there are a couple more attachments included with this one.

Lots of stock in stores and online from the look of it.

For reference, regular Ridgid SKU HD1400 is $198 regular price, this "Special Buy" version is going for $119 (advertised in the flyer at $138).

I've had this since last year and am very happy with it. Its loud but not terrible, I upgraded from an old craftsman that was deafening so this is an improvement.

Can I use this as just a regular apartment vacuum? Looking for one since my Bissell (trash) vacuum died after 1.2 yr.

You wouldn't want to for a number of reasons...

This is huge and louder than household vac. Also it doesn't have a muffler so the exhaust will blow air out and the dust will spread around. A home vac has a filter to minimize this. It would be an option on this shop vac

U need to change dust bag in the future, also the size were too big. I bought the small one since its the same peak horse power anyway. The small one was 99 dollars without dust bag but i bought from amazon 10 bags for 30 dollars.

You should probably get a stick vacuum or canister vacuum with the carpet/hard floor rolling brush.

Ridgid vacs or any shop vacs like this are designed for cleaning cars, home renovations, construction jobs, wood working, plumbing, liquid spills, etc. They're louder and messier than home vacuums, and they don't necessarily have all the tools or attachments to do regular cleaning.
