[Home Depot] $328 Broil-Mate BBQ (In-Store Exclusive? YMMV) - 4 Burner, 42K, Side Burner

I went to pick up this model for $448 yesterday and as I was leaving I saw another very similar model for over $100 less (pic below). Seems like a really great deal for a 4 burner Broil-Mate with a side burner, but I'm new to barbecues so I may be wrong.

I can't find a link to this on the Home Depot website, I believe it is exclusive to in-store so YMMV.

I ended up sticking with the original one I picked up despite being tempted because for some reason the one I grabbed, although having nearly identical specs and appearance, is 40 lbs heavier at 137 lbs (was not easy to carry on my own but I managed!). I naively figured it may be built more robustly as a result, but I was very tempted!

Edit: I saw this in Ontario at the Markham location (3155 Highway #7, Markham, ON, L3R 0T9)

Are Broil-Mate BBQs any good?

4 burners and a side burner for that price makes me think it'll break down or corrode by the end of the season.

Is that a sale price or regular store price?

I bought a broilmate from homedepot in 2010 the first summer after we built our house. We are still using it today.

I store it inside every winter and also using the same cover I bought from Costco at the same time.

I never had to change a thing on it... but at this point because we only use the same side to cook and the other side with things wrapped in foil the side we cook is still usable and the other side the grill is rusted but I don't mind.

Anyway to say that my 350$ went a long way so far lol and I would buy another broil mate hoping it would last me as long :)

Apparently made by Broil-King, a lower priced line. I've heard really good things about Broil-Mate. The Broil-Mate I got had some Broil-King branded equipment in it too.

I need a new BBQ and I go down the rabbit hole and end up looking at $1500 Weber's. I have a 15 year old or so Broil King which is on it's last legs. The doors have fallen off, the grates are rusted and flaking, the starter is shot and it's scary to light manually now, one shelf is falling off.

I don't really want to spend that much for the Weber, but I could if it made sense in the long run. What's the difference between something like this and one of the new Weber Genesis grills?

definitely not electricity lol this one runs on liquid propane

The other option is natural gas, but you'd need to be fitted with a gas line and likely a LP to NG converter.

Yeah. Me too. Don't want to invest a lot.
Weber and Napoleon seemed well recommended here. Rightfully.

Sure, I'll humour you then. This one is LP and has cast iron grates. It's $328.

Here's your closest NG version: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/broil- ... 1000680504
