[Home Depot] ALASKAN Premium Ice Melter - 20 Kg $12.40 with PM at HD in GTA ($12.94 in Ottawa/Quebec) Thursday

Reno Depot in Aurora, Ont has https://www.renodepot.com/en/ice-melter ... er-4854012 on sale for $13.78. Anyone in the GTA might be able to PM at Home Depot for an extra 10% off. ($12.40)

Might even be able to try in other parts of Ontario. Can always call in or via chat, might be successful.

Should have no issue in Quebec.

That might be the case. I am going off an Ontario flyer and it seems the price in Quebec might be a bit more.

Will drop by the Reno depot in Aurora. Thanks.

BTW, only 49 units there. So it will sell out fast.

If you're going to Reno Depot why not price match at Home Depot on Bayview which has 135 in stock?

Not going to be sold out, many don’t buy until they see snow.

Lowes had a deal last year for a 10kg bag at $6. I'll probably hold out until then.
The only thing I know for sure... is that I know nothing.

That's regular rock salt, it only melts ice down to -15°C and it pits concrete/interlocking stones, kills grass and vegetation. It's only good where it doesn't do damage and you don't need it to melt ice below -15°C (in my previous experience more like -10°C).

The Alaskan Ice Melter is different, although it still contains some salt in it, it melts ice down to -31°C, safe on concrete and less harmful on grass/plants. I still use it in moderation and don't go crazy so it's just enough to prevent/melt ice on walkway/driveway for safety. Last year was bad and we used a large bag like this, normally we need only a smaller 5-10kg bag.

Alaskan's a blend and will not damage concrete. It will also work up to -31°C while the pure salt won't. It will not damage the grass also.
I call bullshix! This will eat the surface of of your concrete.

Same and my grass is good.

But I will also wait for Lowe’s deal like last year...

This is 1 year old concrete that I used Alaska ice melter once. Never had a problem with regular salt, the problem is that the concrete made nowadays isn't what it used to be.

Ouch, that's bad ! Next time ask for a better concrete =P

My concrete is 5 years old - it's on my porch.

My asphalt driveway is still perfect too. I put a lot last winter due to ice rain and works well for me.

give me a break. I've been using this rwgular salt for 7 years on my driveway and it looks exactly the same. I swear you guys will your brains onto thinking this won't work to justify the purchase.
