[Home Depot] Bosch 2-1/4HP Combination Plunge/Fixed-Base Router ($236.88 at HD after PM) 1617EVSPK

Hi all, pretty good deal for an all round solid, well-reviewed woodworking router. RONA is selling it for $263.20 - PMed at HD to bring it down to $236.88 which is a really really good price for this unit.

Sells at HD for $349

Amazon sells it for $299

It’s rarely seen for under $260 according to CCC but I’m not sure if I’m using that site properly so I’m going to end my message here :)

Any reason why a fixed router is needed if a plunge one can be used also as fixed?

I have this router combo - love it.
The fixed base has finer adjustment for height/depth.
I actually mounted the fixed base to a router table insert. The plunger base is used for anything I can't do with the router table.

Did you go into the store for a price match? Their online match (on the phone) isn't accepting any more callers....

I grabbed the last one in the Kelowna store and got it proved match in person.it needed two managers approval but i got it for the roughly $227

Used stocktrack to find it in store and did the PM at the checkout. Gave up doing anything over the phone since you can’t get through to anybody.

I was able to grab one for 10% off at Home Depot. Was waiting for this to go on sale.

Now I just need the router table to match.
