[Home Depot] Bosch 9-pc spade bit set $14.88

I’ve been looking at the bigger set, waiting for it to go on sale for less than $35. This is a pretty good price if you don’t need >1”.

I have these and love them. I only use them a handful of times throughout the year but they blast through studs super quickly.

I just ordered the bigger set as I wanted bits larger than 1". It also has a pouch to hold them all, which was important to me.

Regardless, this is a good deal for great quality bits! I have used mostly Bosch spade bits in the past and they have always served me well.

A lot of the sizes here are not really useful. 1/4"?
Though still a good price for good bits. The advantage of these vs. other spade bits (e.g. Irwin) is the screw tip to pull the bit through the wood.

Spade bits are for fast boring rough holes, not fine work. 1/2", 3/4" or 7/8" and 1" or 1-1/4" are basically the sizes you want, with 1/2" optional.
Think holes in studs to run wires or pipes.

Perspective? Good for countersinking when you don't want exposed fastener heads.

I would definitely not use a spade bit for that. Too rough and cuts too fast. Hard to have a depth stop on it. Use a twist bit with a stop collar (easy to diy these on twist bits).

Adding "Bosch" to the title would likely get more people interested.
