[Home Depot] DeWalt 60V Max Flexvolt Kits (Circular Saw, Reciprocating Saw or Grinder) - $303 +FS

Each kit includes the tool, a 9.0Ah flexvolt battery, 6amp charger and bag.

Links are below:

Circular Saw **OOS for delivery**

Reciprocating Saw

Grinder

Select store #7022 (Sudbury) to get this price.

The regular price dropped to $389 for other stores. Regular price for the bare tools is around $300, so you essentially get a free 9.0Ah battery (sells for $220), 6 amp charger (sells for $130) and bag.

Interesting deal, would love a 7 1/4" cordless circ saw. Unfortunately from my basic research 20V and 60V are not compatible. So for someone like me who already has DeWalt 20V this wouldn't be a great deal as my batteries wouldn't work in it, and the new battery wouldn't work in my existing stuff.

Saves me some money anyway!

Curious as to how much more power these versions have over the 20v counterparts. I presume the 9.0 at 60v would be like running the 20v tool with a 3ah?

Not completely accurate. The Flexvolt battery works in all 20V tools, but the Flexvolt tool does not work with standard 20V batteries.

Im pretty sure it would be like running a 20v tool with a 9ah battery

The 9ah is how much juice is in the cup. You just drink that juice a lot faster with a 60mm straw that you would with a 20mm straw. I am not electrician and I could be completely wrong, keep that in mind lol

I use 20v 5ah DeWalt batteries as well as 60v/20v 9ah batteries, and on my impact drill that 9ah will run forever

Yeah that's what I meant it would use up a 9ah@60v as fast as a 20v would burn through a 3ah. Not including the flexvolt extra longevity of course.

Thanks for the clarification! Either way, for my use case I think I'd rather stick to one battery system.

The 60v battery is internally three 20v in series. In series means you add up the voltage.

When the flexvolt battery is in a 20v tool it will run the internal 20v in parallel.

The 9aH rating is for the parallel, 20v mode. I hate that they do this it's a marketing thing.
In 60v mode, it's actually 3aH.

They actually listed the spec in the product page:

Includes (1) DCB609 9AH 60V FlexVolt battery (9AH in 20V mode, 3AH in 60V mode)

Exactly which is why you basically need a minimum 9ah flex battery to even run a 60v tool for any length of time

If flexvolt batteries can be used in any 20V tool, why do they market some 20V tools with the flexvolt label?

My circular saw says flexvolt right on it, but it's clearly only a 20V tool, not a 60v. DCS573

Your 20v flexvolt tool will detect the power of capabilities of the attached batteries and draw more power. It should do the same with the 8ah 20v batteries as well.

The tool you have is a Flexvolt Advantage one where it can use standard 20V batteries OR 60V batteries where it will draw more power (seems to vary by the tool). I have a Flexvolt Advantage grinder that does the same thing. The tools in this thread run on the 60V batteries. Many reviews point out that the jump to 60V is significant and rivals a corded version in terms of power.

As I am typing this I noticed that Compunerd also answered your question.

It is a little confusing, but if you are considering diving into the 60V DeWalt ecosystem, these deals are a good way to get started. The bonus is that this battery and charger are backwards compatible with the 20V tools. The charger is a 6amp model, so will charge batteries very quickly compared to most other chargers that come along with 20V kits.

Would jump on if the tool could use my 20v 5ah batteries, I need a new circular saw, snapped my plate on my current one (dewalt TOUGH!) but I'll wait until it goes (if it does) lower.

Still a decent deal, thanks OP

On top of them quoting peak voltage rather than nominal voltage

Was throwing tons of errors trying to checkout with the circular saw but eventually got it to work but only with the $9.97 express shipping option. Still great deal. Thanks

This saw is a beast btw. I bought mine about a year ago as I was replacing the subfloor in my house. It rips through 3/4" plywood like it's not even there (went through like 35 4x8 sheets). And that was with the crappy stock blade. I paid $350 on sale and it was a bargain back then. It's a great purchase
