[Home Depot] Dremel 3000 variable speed Rotary Tool $62.10 after PM

The Dremel 3000 variable speed rotary tool is $69 at Lee Valley.

You can price match it at Home Depot from $88.98 to $62.10.

Some RFDers have reported success PMing this kit from $119 to $62.10

This pairs nicely with the 160 pc accessory kit currently $29.

I tried getting the price match with the HD online chat rep with no luck. She said it doesn't match the part number, picture and description enough. Any advise?

I would just try again. I did HD Online Chat and I somehow got it cheaper than the actual price match @ $46.78 (not even sure what price they saw at Lee Valley to match it to this). It's definitely a mistake, but I'll take it.

Are there battery powered versions of these and are they worth it or is going wired the way to go?

I would personally get wired because you'll be using them and want to make sure the power is steady.

Worst thing is battery would die in the middle of a job

Also PM'd and bought the $29 kit too. However, I'd love to get it down to $46 - any tips? lol

Doesn't seem to be a "hot" deal, simply price matching with a regular price and getting the +10% off.

$69.00 seems to be Lee Valley's everyday price and so I think I'll wait for a better sale price and THEN price match.

I had a corded dremel before and ended up going to a cordless dremel. Then I found out that Milwaukee had an M12 cordless rotary tool. Since I already had a bunch of M12 batteries so I sold my dremel and went with Milwaukee. I would never go back to a corded model due to the ease of use and portability of the cordless model.

The Milwaukee M12 Rotary Tool (Tool only) is on sale for $69 @ home depot right now.

If you don't have batteries, you can easily find a battery / charger on kijiji or facebook for $30.

Thanks whoace, I took your advise and they did the price match. I didn't get as great a deal as you, but they discounted both the Dremel and the 160 pc kit for some reason. Actually they charged me $64.95 for the Dremel, and $21.17 for the kit. I guess that is HD math for you. But no complaints here! I guess the first girl I got was either a keener, or didn't know what a Dremel was lol.
