[Home Depot] EGO 21-inch 56-V Cordless Snow Blower Kit with Free Leaf Blower

Looks like they're running this promo early this year, usually it's in Nov/Dec.
I caved in and bought myself one of these for this winter.
Couldn't figure out when this promo ends.

If anyone wants to sell the leaf blower and split the deal, I'll offer up $100. Missed this deal last year and have a snowblower already. Might see these flooding kijiji again

Lolz. I'm pretty sure the buyer can just return it back to HD and get more than$100 for it.

I got this last year, and it's amazing. I was very disappointed we only had a few snowfalls. The battery lasts quite awhile if I don't go full power (which just throws the snow further). My driveway could fit 10-12 cars and I clear the whole thing when the snow is pretty heavy (wet).

It’s like the closest you can get to a gas blower. There used to be a head to head test on YouTube against a little Toro 518 (5 hp, 18 inch gas single stage) and the ego outperformed it by a wide margin

The magic in the ego is the fancy battery management system. It can balance between the 2 batteries so they don’t need to be the same capacity or state of charge. It runs on one battery and can use the second battery under heavy load. Other 2 battery cordless units must use both the same capacity battery and also both batteries must have the same state of charge

Edit, here a different test

Thanks. Ordered one. Wish I didn't get the Ryobi mower this summer and paid up for the ego. Oh well, the Ryobi mower has been pretty good, it just would have been nice to use one battery

That’s not typically how these offers work. Like similar ‘free battery’ with purchase of tools, the receipt spells out that it cannot be returned for any value. It’s YMMV if they take it back without receipt, as they frequently know there was a ‘free offer’ and have the right to refuse no receipt returns.

So been thinking of going the Ego route for mower and snow blower.

If I get this snowblower with two 5Ah batteries, the battery will work if I just the mower (without batteries) correct?

if it's all hardened then no. I wouldnt try and run a single stage of any type through that. you need metal augers to chew threw that kind of stuff.

That's not correct... When you return an item part of a a 'free' promo, the refund is a ratio of the final subtotal including the value of the free item.

ex. Buy $898 snowblower, get a blower free (value is $198).
$898+$198=$1096 (but you only pay $898+HST)
$898 represents 81.93% of $1096
$198 represents 18.07% of $1096

So your max refund for each item would be:
$898 mower = max refund $735.73 (.8193x898)
$198 blower = max refund $162.27 (.1807x898)

Ordered. Thanks OP!

I have a 2 stage gas mower that’s too big and heavy for me, so I’ve been looking at alternatives. I hope this is works well enough for me to use regularly.
