Picked up a floor model lm2100 kit for $428 plus tax. This a decent deal? I noticed the battery was manufactured back in December 2016... How concerning is that?

I think they are the same thing, lm2101 is refers to the full kit (so lm2101 is what I got).

I was able to get the 650 kit in Burlington for another $50 off, so $278. Thx for the tip OP.

How do you decide how strong a blower you need? If I just want to blow out leaves from my yard as fast as possible to skip taking what blower should I be targeting?

The 530 will definitely meet your use case. When I had mine, it was able to blow all the leaves in our yard as well as some rocks on turbo speed. The only reason I sold mine for the 650 instead is to use as a snow blower. The 530 could do light snow too but definitely struggled a little when there was more. Also, they're all variable speed so you can always adjust if needed.

Didn't even think to use it as a snow blower... I have a deck I may need to keep snow free over the winter, perhaps that's a second use case...Cheesy wrote: ↑ The 530 will definitely meet your use case. Was just at HD Whitby. Lots of 650 blower kits, mowers, and string trimmers left.
Had an employee open up a ST1511S trimmer kit and can confirm it comes with a 2.5ah BA1400 battery without fuel gauge. The battery pictured on the box is misleading as it shows the BA1400T G3 battery with a fuel gauge but that's not what's inside. The box was factory sealed too. The ST1521S carbon 2.5ah kit shows the old battery on the box which is accurate for what's inside. A bit disappointing but not a deal breaker.

Is the additional $50 off only if you get a floor model or is that another discount? Looking to get the 650 kit as well. ThanksToronto Gamblers wrote: ↑ I was able to get the 650 kit in Burlington for another $50 off, so $278. Thx for the tip OP.

I've read every post in here. Check it every day. One thing I'm surprised about...no one has mentioned how often HD had discounts on Ego on the US.
2 yrs ago, In July, I snagged my 1st ego product, a mower, for $298. That was $100 off. That mower was $698 in Canada.

Curious if anyone has used a 7.5ah with a string trimmer or blower? Is it too heavy? Unsure if I need to invest in a smaller 2.5ah or 5.0ah battery for the trimmer/blower...

No it was an unopened box. I asked for an additional $50 off they agreed. Pretty happy since I got the 650 blower with a 5ah battery for not much more than the cost of the battery.rajeevshan wrote: ↑ Is the additional $50 off only if you get a floor model or is that another discount? It was said by a few earlier that the 2.5ah battery feels much better than the 5ah on the trimmer so I can only imagine the 7.5ah would be a bit to heavy.

It's nothing to do with the times though. HD offers sales on Ego products in the US, but not here. Why the heck not!?Toronto Gamblers wrote: ↑ Times have changed my friend... best of luck crossing the border to cross border shop during covid and quite frankly no desire to take a step into that sh!t show to save a few dollars!
