As an alternate to OP's step #3, I would call the store to get them to look up the SKU and then place the order online if the price is right. I don't know how fast HD is at processing online orders, but it would be pretty annoying to be the employee that picks your item off the shelf, tags it and puts it away for you to pick up in person only to be told to put it back on the shelf a short time later. Cancellations are part of online business, but if we all start adopting this process, there will be a whole lot more. Of course, HD could also just put the clearance price on their website like they used to.

I wonder, do these actually pull 19 watts from the outlet?

Been using these which pull 22w from the outlet (24w advertised) and my plants and succulents absolutely LOVE them, getting color changes and really tight growth and plenty of pups. Would try a few if any are on clearance in Edmonton as I could always use more, but these amazon ones come with a lot of mounting accessories and are 17 per light, so similar to this deal. Lots of wattage claims are straight up lies, they use an "equivalent" wattage to older traditional lights.

the clearance price shows up right away in the order confirmation email /minutes after you place the order, if the price is not discounted in this email then it is not on clearance at that store..

Not sure if I've seen CFL lately, but I'm currently using this LED Grow Light from Dollarama
First time starting seed indoors, seems to be going okay so far, with this bulb in a desk lamp.

Would definitely try these out if I come across them at the clearance price.

For what it's worth I used this LED on an indeterminate cherry tomato plant by a northe facing window. Was able to get quite a few cherry tomatoes before moving it outside.

Was able to cancel once the order was visible on website (it warns "up to 30 minutes" after order). Said you can cancel online before they fill the order.
