I’m intrigued by the caulking gun even though it seems ridiculous. What’s the big advantage to a battery powered one? Easier to maintain a constant pressure?

I've only known of planers as those benchtop units that you effectively feed your wood through, is the hand planer a different tool or just a different way to do the planing?

So far I've only bought dimensional wood + plywood, but anticipate soon buying more rough cut lumber. Is the hand planer the right tool to square off those pieces?

Side note: I got that circular saw during the holiday promo, it came with a 5Ah battery. Wasn't octane then either, but at least more Ah!

Will it work, yes, but a table top jointer is the right tool. A handheld planer will remove the rounded edges but it won't square the sides and you're susceptible to introducing waves as you go down the wood due to uneven pressure.

Been eyeing one of those 1/2" sub compact impact wrenches for awhile. They don't seem to be in stores. What would the best way to get in on this deal for one and be able to return the starter kit? These return partial value deals still only work for in-store purchases?

A couple caveats here.
Firstly, in the past if you ordered online, there was no way to return the portion of the promotion that you didn't want. The store receipts listed the dollar return value, but online did not.
Secondly, not all stores will allow you to do a partial return. The a**holes in Kingston ON won't do it, so if you are in a 'one store town', you may be SOL.

Do we know the typical price for the battery kits? I actually need both so I will be paying full pop for the battery kit, and getting an impact wrench for free. Just wanted a ballpark figure.

EDIT: NVM I'm stupid. I thought I paid for the battery and got the tool for free haha. Would have been a steal!

There was a promo in November as well, and no battery/charger kits were available. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again. Their marketing department really needs to stop running these promos unless they have the goods in the country.

I remember that then a bunch came in like a week into the promo then the rfd's scooped them all up and a few weeks later a bunch more came in.

I also remember stock numbers being all janky due to people buying and returning unneeded bits.

Which one should I get if I just want to use it for changing the tires/rims?

I need a basic drill for general hanging of things and drilling into studs. Is there a good option in this list of items?

hopefully the 1/4" octane driver is included in this. getting tempted by the DeWalt combo kit

if the 3/8" stubby is on sale (which it doesn't appear to be), I'd get that. works for smaller cars and is far lighter and compact than the bigger models. if it's not avail, the 1/2" medium wrench is pretty solid

You give too much credit to RFD and not enough to Home Disappointment's mismanagement of their inventory system.

Why do they even sell a cordless belt sander when a 4ah battery is dead in 14 minutes...
