[Home Depot] Gardena Leaf Collector - $98 (Error?)

Costco retail price was 189 a few years ago, but, I believe RFDers prefer to buy these around ~150 on clearance

It doesn’t appear to be repriced at other retailers so I assume this is a price error. The box ready for me at pickup looked sun faded so maybe it’s some weird clearance?

🗣️ Community Feedback
Forum users have shared various experiences with this promotion:

Positive Experience: "Bought one, thanks OP."

Critical Experience: "Bought a v15 slim at the last event for $500+ and the motor died right after the 1 year warranty expired. It turns on for a few seconds and then off again, can do that repeatedly but won’t stay on. Looking online many people report the same issue. Not worth spending that kind of money for something that can’t last."

I don't think it is a price error, just a clearance, but I bought one, thanks op :)

Edit: Well I guess it is a price error!

Ditto. This is kind of interesting. I was about to dethatch my lawn but the machine comes with a pathetic little bag so I usually use without, then rake into piles and manually collect/dispose. If this is large enough a collector, it might be worth it.

For those who have it, how does the mechanism work -- is it just a little slant to move things up or does it have tines/fingers to pull the leaves/debris in? TIA

Thanks OP! Anyone has tried that with pine needles ? My lawn is full of them but I don’t know if that would work since this is made for leafs.

Hmm.. Probably should check the reviews prior to ordering.. The product video looks great, but possibly for my situation it may not be practical.

I use my lawnmower with a bag. It shreds the leaves so they are ready for compost. I don't see how this tool is better.

Yes me too, I think a yard waste bag chute would be more useful than another piece of tool that occupies space and seems to be only good for light duty leaves. At the end you still need to empty it into a paper bag..

I just don't see how this leaf collector tool is any better than using two rakes to scoop leaves directly into a paper bag. Actually adds an extra step. Maybe if your yard is with minimal amount of leaves it is useful. The plastic tines doesn't seem replaceable either.

Ordered. The bagging kit for my zero turn mower costs a fortune, so I'll give this a try.

same. my mower (unfortunately not zero turn) is 42" so i'd love one the same size.

also a word of warning, these can get damaged pretty easily if you bang them around in storage. many of my neighbors have a dedicated spot in their garage for the lawn sweeper. this isn't possible for me so I'm assuming I'll be disassembling mine at the end of every season
