[Home Depot] Grohe Euphoria 260 shower system - $578 after PM

Was looking for a thermostatic rain shower / hand shower combo for my bathroom renovation. The bath stores we visited seem to be pushing Riobel, a Quebec brand, but I'm not a fan of control layout.

Came across this German-made (EDIT: German-designed, actually made in Portugal) Grohe system, which I think has a nicer control layout:
https://www.grohe.ca/en_ca/euphoria-sys ... 28001.html

Home Depot sells it for $741:
https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.euph ... 68174.html

Amazon.ca sells it for $669:
https://www.amazon.ca/26128001-Euphoria ... b_title_hi

However, Home Comfort Centre, a Richmond Hill-based retail store, sells it for $642:
https://www.homecomfortcentre.com/grohe ... er-sy.html

HD matches online stores, but does a 10% beat on bricks and mortar, so $642 becomes $578.

It's an online exclusive, so you have to call in and get it shipped (free) to your house or local HD store.

I did this yesterday, and picked it up in store today. Best price I've seen for a Grohe system anywhere.

Yeah, we wanted a rain head AND wand.

pistolpetejr, besides the diverter, what makes the one I bought better?

(totally new to the plumbing world, haha.)

+1 for Grohe.
I have one of their systems with the shower head + rain head + 3 x jets, and I look forward to my showers everyday :)
Their warranty is top notch as well. My shower head malfunctioned at one point, and they sent a replacement very quickly, even though it was the previous owner of the house that bought and installed the system.

I had mine since February, no problem yet. In fact, works very well. Won't go back to non-thermostatic faucets. Bought 2 units from Wayfair, one unit had a minor problem due to poor workmanship, Wayfair sent me a replacement and didn't ask for the defective one be returned. I fixed the problem myself. Now, I have one brand new unit as spare.

I would also recommend the Kalia brand, got this model (with a tub spout and 6 way diverter) for $499

Since getting a thermostatic valve I would never go back
RFD'ers to avoid:
EEE2 - Will string you along for 2 weeks, offer to EMT a deposit but then never follow through with buying anything
TrevorBurns - Backs out of deals at the last minute after stringing you along.

I have Riobel from my past reno in the bathroom, and since 3 or 4 years I am very happy with it. Not that expensive, easy to clean, nice design and reliable.

I always recommend Riobel, excellent quality, many good styles and loads of options, 3 function valve built into 1 body/cartridge, excellent service

I’ve installed hundreds of valves from this brand and problems have been almost non existent

I have it in my home and enjoy it very much.
You get what you pay for, those things are junk. Just a bundle of plastic hoses behind a fancy cover. Not built for any sort of longevity. I call these a house flipper special
