It was "temporarily unavailable" yesterday, then somehow I was able to add it to cart and check out with PayPal. Reporting back: indeed, Ryobi and Ridgid are "dumb" tools, looks like there's no handshake / authentication between the tool and the battery. A couple of connectors, some 16 AWG wire, and 5 min of soldering later the trimmer runs off a Ridgid battery. Just did the whole yard, the 4 Ah battery is still half full.
