last week I just bought the Rigid R4518 wonder if the one in the flyer is the exact same for a price match....still have it in the box if needed to return.

I been eying this for a while now.

From research, it was reported at 88$ and 98$ in 2019. That said the regular price of the tool has gone up from 149 to 169, to 194 to the now 184$.

Best deal from what I recall this year would have been at 149$ with a free starter kit. That would had made de tool at around 93$ if you consider the return value. Still kicking myself that I missed that.

EDIT : That said the 10$ coupon should work in store, bringing the price to 109$.

What is the difference between the Milwaukee combo kit for $168 and the one for $198. They look exactly the same?

Unless I'm missing something, the 3 Ryobi items have gone from $88 last year to $119...

It is the same one, it goes on sale for $168 for the black friday flyer only (Nov 26-Dec 2), then goes back to $198 until the end of the year. Same goes for the dewalt. The Christmas guide (the one with the $198 price) was part of last week's flyer too. It's confusing , I know....

Only recommendation I would suggest is that stick with one brand. I was juggling between Milwaukee and DeWalt a few years ago and I personally went for for Milwaukee as most of my contracting friends use them. X years later, I still have a nice collection of Milwaukee tools which I usually get a new tool or 2 every year and they haven't changes the battery style in ages. At Work, we used DeWalt and have no complaints either.

IMHO you cannot go wrong with either one. I had some Ryobi a way back and wasn't satisfied. They may have improved since though. Can't comment on Makita.

This is quite sad, i bought the nailer @ $88 last year, hoping the 4AH batteries will be $88 again this year.

Glacier Bay Premier Toilet is now $98, BF deal is $112?!?!

the Ryobi drill press was always $148.......

i guess HD has lost a lot of profit from the Ryobi 20% off error during the summer....

however, they still made very good money over the entire pandemic.....and is still trying to rip us off now?

Agree, some item are indeed more expensive than non-BF price, or a week before that. Kind of dissapointed here as well.
I am aiming at that husky 26" tool box 298. Not going down...

Ridgid lifetime warranty on battery and tool makes it very attractive.

Good point...but IIRC, unless you register your tool from the getgo, it's a hassle to get compensated afterwards if it breaks.

In addition, you are basically limited to continue your tool purchase only at home depot whereas Milwaukee and DeWalt is a more "universal" brand, therefore you don't rely only on HD when they go on sale (i.e. TSC/Peavey Mart, JC Cayer, Elite Tools, etc.).

I have some Ridgid stuff, but not for power tools...

Strange, can't load the flipp flyer at all in Firefox (with/without adblock). In Chrome, only appears as 2 pages (so like 20 items total, 1/3 of which aren't even on sale?!?!). Yikes.

Makita is definitely premium tier. The price is typically more, and I find they have less specialized tools which average joe home owner would find useful. That said, with battery adapters, you could have makita tools + bats, and then buy the rinky dink other tools.
