They let you return everything without the one item? Wouldn't the receipt show I got the truck too and should be returning it? Hmm
During promotions like this, the reciept will show a "maximum return value" for even the free items.

I think it works like this,
3 piece kit = 348
Truck = 99
Other tool = 168
Total value = 615

The truck's value at regular price is a about 16.1% of the total value.

16.1% of 348 (because that's all you're paying for with the promotion) is $56.03.

So if you returned everything except for the truck, you'd get all of your money back except $56.03.

Maybe someone can correct me if I've got it wrong.

Update: These deals are pretty specific to the Burnaby location from what I’ve seen so far. Cambie has basically nothing reduced and Terminal is almost as bad. However, Terminal does have one good deal:

12 units still in stock they say (still in the racking). Both pieces are sold as one unit. Still $888 online.
So both top and bottom for $350? Which location? Terminal im assuming?

Edit: its terminal, but the sale ended on the 4th. It was still $355 when scanned. Had to go through a few sales associates for confirmation. So there was the 3 floor models left and i grabbed one, but its missing the key to the bottom chest.

Note all the clearance stickers are pulled off and sign is gone. Thanks Toolhound. Deal of the year for me so far!

Note one associate told me," they are great boxes,. I have 6"

EDIT2: well i tried contacting Dewalt and no answer for the keys/locks. I took the lock apart and found it was almost identically keyed to my upper chest. i swapped 2 pins around and it matched! now i can open both locks with the same key. NOTE: they are $20 for a set.

I am looking for Christmas trees, anyone happen to know any deals?
Good Luck with that Premium, my local HD (Chatham ON) had Christmas items reduced only up to 50% off after Christmas (except poinsettias which were reduced to $1), then around Dec 29th started to re-pack and box things up to either sell off through a 3rd party source or return to the distribution center for next year. Even the outdoor greenery planters in the large pots sat still only 1/2 price upto Dec 29th I guess they must just throw them out if they can't sell at 50% off?

My local HD used to continue to mark things down further until they were gone in previous post-Christmas clearances. They also did this last year as well however the reductions were 75% off before they packed up things. Some retailers go as low as 90% off season-end items but those deals are getting more rare each year. Even the local WM in Chatham ON only went down to 50% off Christmas items this go around. I remember last year they went to 90% in their discount. I got a nice 200 LED prelit Christmas tree for $6. This year, even at 50% off, they had no trees left. They are really getting tighter on their inventory levels to avoid having to discount items beyond 50% off IMO.

Hope you can score a nice deal on a tree somewhere PremiumSmiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes.

Happy New Year All!

Got a 9ft pre lit LED Tree last year for $90 reg $399 in Feb. They were packed away in the rafters and some discussions with the manager brought it down to $90

I bought one of the led-snowmen last year, they brought down the price from 150$ to like 20$. I must say that even at 20$ bucks I think it's a fair deal at best. Not even sure I'll pack it back in... what a piece of crap that is.

Here's some stuff from Richmond HD.

For those in Vancouver salivating over the 40“ DeWalt chest, there's 6 in stock according to their system. They said they'd just need to pick them from the rack. $355

Also a hot deal on the Moen faucet with the extra 25%off. It was a single one on the clearance rack.

Good luck

Is there a specific day when HD puts new stuff on clearance?

Clearance across the board is usually handled by MET staff which are in every weekday. Specific item clearance, such as old stock that is hanging around in the rafters is usually marked down item by item by the department manager, so that can be any day of the week. These tags are the ones that are stuck on the item and list a "Reason:".
