Here's to Home Depot!!.
Ps. Did you buy the extended warranty? I've never heard of this before, but they asked me if I wanted the extended warranty for 2 years at $39.

Anyone get the truck for $50 that would be kind enough to post their receipt?

It's a really big YMMV if the item was a markdown. It sounds like this was a return or display, which isn't usually eligible for price match.

The $100 tag was no different than the “$519” tag in my picture, just a price and sku. No mention of clearance or open box.

If the cashier peeled it off, that's a good sign that it was a one-time deal specific to that item - but it doesn't show that on the receipt, which is also odd.

Yeah, I am in Chatham too and the struggle is real with our local Home Depot. Also, depending on who is working sometime it is such a pain in a$$ to get them to price match. Once, the manager even tried to refuse a price match because the store was in Toronto. He said "What, you going to drive to Toronto this weekend just to save some money on this nailer?" My reply was simply, "How do you know when and how often I drive to Toronto? Also, do you have some secret fine print in the price match policy that determines if the store is an inconvenient drive than you will not honour it?"montward wrote: ↑Jan 6th, 2019 10:16 amGood Luck with that Premium, my local HD (Chatham ON) had Christmas items reduced only up to 50% off after Christmas (except poinsettias which were reduced to $1), then around Dec 29th started to re-pack and box things up to either sell off through a 3rd party source or return to the distribution center for next year. Even the outdoor greenery planters in the large pots sat still only 1/2 price upto Dec 29th I guess they must just throw them out if they can't sell at 50% off?
My local HD used to continue to mark things down further until they were gone in previous post-Christmas clearances. They also did this last year as well however the reductions were 75% off before they packed up things. Some retailers go as low as 90% off season-end items but those deals are getting more rare each year. Even the local WM in Chatham ON only went down to 50% off Christmas items this go around. I remember last year they went to 90% in their discount. I got a nice 200 LED prelit Christmas tree for $6. This year, even at 50% off, they had no trees left. They are really getting tighter on their inventory levels to avoid having to discount items beyond 50% off IMO.
Hope you can score a nice deal on a tree somewhere Premium.
Happy New Year All!

Confirmed! There were around 10 sets left when I was leaving the store about an hour ago. Thanks for posting this. You made my day!
