Looks like a great deal to me.

Do you know if these are linkable? I see nothing of the sort.

I have the same ones in the garage, no they are not linkable. My only gripe about them is they seem to take a few seconds to turn on, not quite instant start.

You would need outlets connected to a switch or an extension cord/power bar along with a smart outlet.

Not an electrician, but AFAIK you can just cut the plug off and wire the two sides to black/white... make sure you orientate them properly since LED's are directional for current.

Yes I know ppl have done this before but rather not deal with the unknown or safety concerns doing this.

If you have a standard light socket, you can buy a $5 adapter to plug into.

This LED T8 wrap light was on sale for $39 at Rona for those that need hardwiring, but I guess you’ll have to wait for the next sale. I confirmed it’s straight wiring on this one, no ballast, and comes with two T8’s.

Any recommendations on similar LED garage lights that are hardwired?

I'm not an expert here but I'm pretty sure doing this kind of thing is against code--taking a "soft-wired" plug-in device and converting it to hardwire. I could be wrong though, there may be a correct/approved way of doing this but it seems pretty sketchy TBH.

Anyway Ontarians will be getting no clearance/YMMV deals at HD (except those that happen to be available online) for the forseeable future. Good news is once stores do open up again there should be a lot of stuff hitting the clearance sections as there was the last time.

I discussed this with my inspector and it was a hard no on the basis that removing the plug invalidated the product's ULc certification. I was trying to avoid the cost of installing arc fault breakers (I'm tight) for the lighting circuit.

If the product shows up as limited quantities on the HomeDepot.ca site it is on in-store clearance at your store and marked for liquidation by HQ. Not sure if the price will be adjusted for instore pickup but it doesn't hurt to try as you can always cancel the order.
I don't think limited quantities really means anything else as there is no reason for 31 units at Ottawa stores to be called limited when other items with lower quantities are not listed as such even when discontinued.

Shows up as $21.98 for all the stores around me WGTA
It used to be only death and taxes were inevitable. Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.
