[Home Depot] HOT! Home Decorators cordless faux wood blinds YMMV Clearance

Apparently Home Depot is clearing out their cordless wood blinds and paper blinds as well.

Went to two Home Depots, limited sizes and they cut to fit your window.

Hell of a deal if you ask me.

3 colours: white gray brown
2 sizes : 2 inch and 2.5inch

are these type of blinds black out light? I wanted a blackout curtain but it wouldn't fit my bedroom window because there's a desk under it

Not that I know anything about why they're on clearance, but these don't have chains or cords right? Just the bar for tilting.
Wouldn't these be the ones to replace the one's being phased out?

The bar at the bottom of the red label seems to indicate they're halfway between 'Light filtering' and 'Blackout' so I wouldn't expect total darkness with them.

Thanks for posting this deal. Went tonight and got 5 blinds for upstairs. The price was reduced even more at the till. The closet and bathroom blinds were $9 each. Total cost for all was $120. Had meant to replace the blinds when I had the house painted but we were traveling overseas right after and didn’t have time. I have been waiting for a deal. And they cut them to size!

I'm quite happy with my 2.5" Faux blinds. I bought 15 of them at full price when we replaced all our windows. Even then it was far cheaper than custom blinds and yet still look quite good. WAY better than the crappy metal ones we used to have. At this discount it's a no brainer if you like the look and are OK to install them yourself. The fact that they cut them to size is great. I will say shortening them is a bit of a pain... but really just tedious.

No. They're designed to be trimmed if needed. They have a special cutting station in store just for this purpose.
Note that widths can only be trimmed a certain amount. ie. You couldn't trim a 60" blind to 50". You can usually only take a few inches off each end depending on the size because of the strings. Should be indicated on the box how much it can be cut. Smaller widths have less available to trim.

So homedepot is doing the cutting?

You have to be a bit careful - some of the blinds that Home Depot sells they won't cut in the store but they are still "trim to fit". I'm sure if you try to get them cut an associate will let you know though. Cutting them to size is pretty easy, they just take a circular saw, make sure all the plastic vanes are wrapped up tight together and trim off the excess. It's pretty easy to do at home which is what I'm going to do. Most of the cut to fit blinds have a trim allowance of about 4-5" which is something I couldn't figure out online.

I'm not ready to put the blinds up (still cleaning & painting) but 75% off is too good to pass up. The 2 1/2" faux wood white blinds in my size (36X72) were close to $100 each and they were on clearance for $23.80. They also didn't show that they were in stock online - so you have to go to the store.

Home Depot has the best selection of faux wood and aluminum blinds, Lowes has the best selection of cellular shades on clearance.

Not all of them, but yes they do the cutting on select models/brands. You never know that they get trimmed.

Ya just make sure you've measured your frame correctly. They should cut it 1/2" narrower than the inside of the frame measurement
