Husky 52" 13 drawer Tool Chest - $598

They clear out the 42" for around $300 a few times a year. Not a terrible price but if you can wait I would.

I wouldn't say they rarely go under $1000. I got mine for this price and I've seen it come down to this price on multiple occasions since. Still, happy with my purchase. It doesn't have soft close, but you're also paying $600.

I got mine for $440, last year. 1 location was selling for $398

No time machine but if you're patient you can probably do better as note by others.

I picked up this one in July for $304. I think they ran it for $598 for father's day and then blew them out.

I've been looking for one since september-ish that was 47 to 52" wide, and this is the best value I've seen. I'd love to get it for 300ish (may pick up a second one for my work shop if that's the case) but didn't want to risk not getting one. Even at $598 it's a good value IMHO

I've also been patiently waiting for a decent sale on a larger Husky or the 43" Kirkland box and they haven't been on sale in forever.

Isn't the 52" Husky for $600 the normal price? Same for the 42" Huskt at $500.

If that Textured 52" Husky was on sale for $600 I'd be all over it!

I got this unit for $230 (convinced manager to give further discount) plus tax at Downsview after they cleared them out after Black Friday.

If you can wait it's worth waiting for a clearance sale.
The drawers are definitely not high end but for the price I paid this weekend mechanic is very happy.

I wouldn't say they rarely go down to this price. It is 2 or 3 times a year at least nowadays. IT's become like CT deals. Don't buy this at regular price

I had picked up the 18 drawer version of the 52", back in 2015 for the same price. It is no longer available, but overall, it works fine.

The slides are not soft close, but that doesn't bother me. But I do have one drawer where the clip at the back of the slide (the one that holds the drawer in place when closed - it's a spring loaded piece of plastic, but it feels like a detent when closed), no longer works. Originally it was assumed it was just the clip that was defective, so they sent me out a new pair of clips [one for each side], and I replaced them, and they worked fine for a few months and then the same drawer acted up. I called them up and since I was coming to end of warranty, they sent me out 4 pairs.. and now it has started acting up again (out of warranty). I suspect that there is some manufacturing flaw on the slider itself, which is abnormally wearing out the clips. The parts were shipped out from Stanley (so this husky box is made by Stanley for them).

I may look at replacing the slides eventually, but if I remember correctly, they are all riveted in place, which can be a pain to drill out. And a full set of soft close full extension quality slides will easily cost very close to the cost of the toolbox itself, so replacements would be just a decent set of normal slides. For now, I have enough clips to last me a while (since I no longer replace them in pairs).
