We bought this model to replace an ancient one in the basement. It went off one day thanks to a furnace backdraft.

Ours is bilingual, so it sternly warns you "WARNING! CARBON MONOXIDE! AVERTISSEMENT! MONOXYDE DE CARBONE!" in a manner that makes you think you're trapped in a doomed Government of Canada building.

Good thing it talks because I always ignore high pitched ear-piercingly loud beeps coming from inside my home.

Not important
Must be on sale regularly, got this early June for this price. Instead I price matched and bought at Canadian Tire so I could fulfill my CT money promo there. Easy installation, and seems good so far!

Lol. Based on the same logic, why have a smoke detector? I always ignore chocking smoke coming from inside my house. Jk.

Is it better to replace these with 3 smoke+CO combo detectors?

apparently these are standalone, and not interconnected.
You would need only 1 CO near a door that lead to garage or near the kitchen if you have gas.

Please don't buy these if you have kids. The alarm voices are not synced so you end up with a cacophony of French and English voices talking over each other. It's incredibly confusing and stressful for adults, never mind children. A simple language switch would have prevented this lethal design error.

I have ripped mine out and gone back to tone only smoke/CO alarms. Sadly smart alarms are still not allowed under BC's archaic codes.
