[Home Depot] Kreg Rip Cut Circular Saw Jig $27.98 YMMV (GTA)

Saw this Kreg Rip Cut on sale for $27.98 at the Markham East HD store last week. There were lots of them sitting under the clearance table near the wall. Stock Track still shows 44 available there.

https://stocktrack.ca/?s=hd&sku=1001184777

Update: Latest price at Markham East is $22.4. Receipt uploaded by MisterCME

I remembered I picked one up few years ago during the winter time clearance for $15 and the next spring it went back to full price. Don't understand why HD will drop the price during the summer time.

My gut feeling is that if you ask the more senior staff at your local HD to PM, they would likely approve as they have power to reduce price for a maximum of $50. We're talking about $28 difference here, more than that would require manager approval.

I was able to ask the hardware manager to PM the Bosch laser clearance at other store for a difference of $60 last week.

Good price at $28. My local HD is still showing $56, however.

It is good for plywood rip tool to cut along the factory edge for up to 24” from the edge. I find the circular saw plastic sled/shoe useful when I need to cut further from the edge by sliding it along a cutting guide/fence (could be a long level clamped on both sides). The plastic saw sled prevents some flexing/sagging of the plywood coming to play during a (weighted) circular saw cut given the thickness of the plastic sled height allowance to slide along a cutting guide without having the circular saw guard slip under the guide fence. To my surprise, I found local sagging on thick foam board with 3/4” ply sheet on initial long cuts given the weight of the circular saw particularly around the middle. Kreg circular saw sled/shoe from this set was my solution for subsequent cuts.
This is now my cheap track saw equivalent, circular saw equipped with plywood blade with the Kreg saw sled and a fence/guide. I used this saw set up for a basement L-shape bar build getting the large plywood face/top pieces cut. Table saw was used for medium to small plywood pieces. The large pieces were quite acceptable compared to Table Saw cut pieces with just some minor sanding and a bottom trim+top skirt design to cover up the edges.

P.S. By contrast, I would not buy a Kreg cross cut guide for circular saws when a large carpenter square will do.

Bought this at full price last Fall to cut down a new acacia table top. Good deal!

Unfortunately it's still new in the package and the table top remains uncut in the garage over 8 months later. One day.... Face With Tears Of Joy

I bought it, used it to cut some cabinets and then kept it. The price was the cost for getting the job done.

For those wondering how well they work, I'd say really well. I was able to rip sheets 8 feet long with a circular saw and they all turned out fine. I tried to buy a table saw for it, but at the time they were impossible to get.

I paid full price. It feels cheap and flimsy. I'm not happy with mine but kept it anyway.

i found that many HD employees (especially new staff) weren't well trained to use their gadget to check price. Many time when i asked the staff to check price at other store they simply dont know how. Best bet is to ask the staff at front desk customer service desk or just call in to ask.

50 nearest stores to me (Guelph) all $56. Looks like it was specific to one store and is over now (Markham East showing $56)?

unless im doing it wrong. how do you guys ensure it attaches to the circular saw correctly? I use the 2 metal prongs to attach it to the saw however if I do it tightly the plastic starts to bend. it also leaves 2 dents in the saw (not a huge issue) any tips?

web price (which is shown on stocktrack) is not always the same as in-store scanned price. You have to take it to the cashier to scan the real price or you can call the store to check price.
