Actually the 1/2" version is just $149 with the free kit!

I see $199 for the 1/2”

Anyone know why the max refund value of the battery and charger is?

I was going to ask, M12 accessories are pain to resell on Kijiji and I already have M12 batteries, looking to get just the tool.

Check the homedepot clearance thread if you want the 1/2 inch stubby for $90

86 for the tool and 63 for the kit, when you buy it for $149. Plus taxes of course.

Yeah there are tons of M12 batteries and chargers on Marketplace for cheap (about 30 for the battery and 20 for the charger).

IMO, you're way better off refunding the kit than dealing with all the rude low-ballers.

I don't get it... how would you get a refund "kit" or whatever?? The tool alone is $199.99

as pmdoit said, this is an impact “wrench”, not an impact driver. Different tools.

Yes, $199 is the regular price for the 1/2" Stubby bare tool. BUT the current HD flyer shows the bare tool plus bonus free battery/charger starter kit for $149 total.

It may look like a price error but the HD cashier system is charging that amount for both items when bought together.

If you already have M12 batteries and a charger, you can return the starter kit and get a refund of around $63 plus tax, which is more than the battery and charger is worth in my opinion (i.e. you can buy the pieces cheaper on Kijiji or FB Marketplace, if you don't mind running around).

Easy. There is promo where you buy an item (in this case the Stubby Impact, $199) with which you are eligible to get another item for free (in this case it's the battery w/ charger, which normally costs $109.00). These items are assigned a "Max Refund Value" on the receipt so that you can return either the paid-for item or the free item and still get a money back even for the free item.

Anyway back to the topic, I just went to Home Depot and bought the 1/2", it was marked for $199 on the shelf, but at the register it indeed checked out for $149, still with the free battery+charger. The refund value for the battery+charger is $62.95, so all in, after tax, I got the stubby for $93.5.

Thanks for the tip, I was on the verge of getting it even for the $140ish (the cheapest I've seen it on Kijiji lately was about $120), but this is way, way better.

Why some home Depot doesn't allow return of free item even if it has a refund value?
