[Home Depot] Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen - $135.50 w Enbridge ON coupon & PM (Reg $329)

[EDIT for Black Friday pricing]
New price at HD effective Nov 28 is $249.00 (so would come out to $135 with all coupons applied).
And Visions has this for $1 cheaper so HD should do a PM+10% match (thanks to user badOne)
https://www.visions.ca/product-detail/2 ... ku=T3007EF
So new pricing with Enbridge Rebate and Ontario discount should be:
Price: $249
PM: $248 -10% = $223.20
Enbridge: -$75
Subtotal $148.20
HST $19.27
25% Rebate -$37.05 (off $148.20)
TOTAL $130.42

Amount may vary depending exactly how and in what order the employee calculates and applies the discounts.

Anyone who bought this recently can go to HD within 1 month of purchase to get a price adjustment based on the Black Friday pricing. May come out slightly ahead if they don't bother recalculating the base price for 25% rebate.

----------------------------------------
I know there is another thread on the cheaper E version, but also a good deal to be had on the 3rd Gen version as well (edit: For ON/QC). I used a current Amazon.ca price to PM at Home Depot. For online deals they will just PM, not extra 10% off.
Amazon listing for $284.97 PM: https://www.amazon.ca/Nest-Learning-The ... B0131RG6VK
Enbridge Ontario $75 coupon: https://smartrebate.enbridge.com/

My final receipt was as follows:
Base Price $329.00
Amazon PM $-44.03
Enbridge $-75.00
Subtotal $209.97
HST $27.30
Energy 25% $-52.50
Final Total $184.77

So effectively comes to $163.51 + HST = $184.77. Can probably also get another $5 off with HD email signup.

This also includes 25% off for Ontario Energy savings, which is applied in-store (no coupon needed). That may be the ON specific part.

Oh right! I missed that. By the way HD actually gave me that extra 10% off. Thanks for posting!

Got the order email and it says regular price but credit card got charged $269.29 which is what the lady on the chat told me it would be.

It could have been a little cheaper I think they forgot to apply the 10% price beat.

They cannot because -10% it’s only when the price is not online price (Amazon has no physical store)

Thanks for all the info you guys provided. I read this post yesterday. And I saw Costco has the price of $254.99 in store this morning. I took a picture in Costco and PM in Homedepot. paid 135 to get this nest thermostat.

receipt calculation:
PM to Costco: 254.99
10% PM Discount: - 25.50
Enbridge Rebate: -75
Subtotal: 154.5, Tax: 20
Ontario Coupon: -38

Final: 136

Check Costco price below, just in case sombody needs it.

It's entirely up to the HD employee that rings up your purchase, how the discounts and rebates are applied. Some of them will put in the 25% Ontario energy credit on total before the $75 coupon, making the energy credit worth more and resulting in lower price. On my order, the HD employee got out a calculator to figure it out and punched in the $ totals manually.

If you want the best chance at highest discount, present the Enbridge coupon last (after they've already calculated the 25% credit) and hope they don't bother to re-adjust what the 25% is based on.

The thread on Nest E from HD has prices people paid all over the place due to this.

Are you sure that wasn't the Ontario Energy rebate, as the discount is exactly 25%.

If you try to order from Costco online, it comes out to the identical amount but you have to add the Ontario energy rebate to your cart.

If it is just the rebate, then you got incredibly luck for a HD to allow a PM on it.

I don't think it's the Ontario Energy rebate in Costco. In the price tag, it says "instant savings, EXP: 2019-12-29". And the energy rebate's expire date is 2020-03-31. I don't know if it's normal that Costco in store prices doesn't match their online prices. Needed to be confirmed.

The instant savings at Costco is the 25% energy rebate. They have that date on everything that qualifies. Possibly because the govt money could run out by end of year. Secondly, the Costco one is a different product in that it comes with a sensor so technically different. You got very lucky with a price match at Home Depot.

He got very lucky indeed if he didn’t need the sensor anyway. I was thinking about doing this too, PM with Homedepot if the sensor is not really a necessity.

YMMV - I went to a HD that rejected the PM (Morningside/401). After calling HD Customer Service I was given a $45 e-gift card (takes 24-48 hrs) to make up for the difference + got another HD to match bringing my receipt to $157.80. Which is a net total of $112.80. Good luck!

They rejected the Amazon price or the Costco price?

If the Amazon price, did they give you a reason? I did notice the HD model numbers end in CA while the Amazon ones are US. The person I dealt with though didn't really care about model number, just read description/colour matched and that was it.
