Correct, for California style also known as knockdown. This is not for the popcorn texture.

Furthermore, for those like me, I had a leak in a bathroom and now need to repair an area of textured ceiling on the level below. For $3.76, a sponge, a little mud and YouTube at my side I might get that solved quite cheap.

Textured ceiling? Aka popcorn ceiling? Aka we are too shitty at making a flat even ceiling so we cover it up with popcorn?

(50 in stock as of 5:19pm)

Sorry, scratch that. 50 in stock but they fixed the price and they're now $39.64 each.

Wood handles are back in stock at the error price and the trowels are still out of stock.

The knockdown knives ship from the manufacturer in Arkansas so they can refill the online inventory quickly. The trowels ship from HD warehouse so those might come back but would take longer to refill. I don't know where the wood handles ship from as I didn't order any of those.

I’m in tonnes of 60s built houses with non-textured ceilings. Seems to me that smooth is retro.

I buy and sell houses throughout the year. Every house builder in Ontario: Mattamy Homes, Jasper, Tiffany, Branthaven, Starlink, Primont, Sundial, Astoria, Great Gulf, etc ALL charge for smooth ceilings.

The average cost to have smooth ceiling through the builder is $1500/floor for a 2000-3000sqft house.

During house showings smooth ceilings are mentioned in listings as a favourable upgrade.

I speak only for Ontario, where smooth ceilings are desirable and costly.

In South Asia smooth ceilings are the default and getting popcorn ceilings is a luxury and very costly.

I prefer popcorn ceiling for my home theatre rooms to contain sound by diffusing the sound waves into smaller waves that reflect and cancel each other out.
