Actually the $199 kit came with the bigger 4ah battery and a full-size charger, but no sockets of course.

Alberta and surrounding area it looks like.
Didn't realized the stock just drops off elsewhere.

No. OP is correct.
This was a posted $199 sale a couple weeks ago. It was even advertised on redflagdeals.

I'm talking about a year or two ago when they included the 4.0 batteries in the impact wrench kits for $199.

Now they're cheaping out with just 2ah batteries and the downsized chargers.

Good to know.

Edited the OP to add some more information. The impact wrench is a very good one and it should be adequate for most use cases.

Ah ok. I'm pretty sure the deal for that kit is usually $178.
Happens once or twice a year.

This is an awesome deal for this along with the kit. This has always been with a 2.0 battery AFAIK, never seen it with a 4.0 (there's other kits with that but not this particular SB3 kit with the sockets and elusive-in-Canada Ridgid bag.

$150 would be good for the tool alone so doesn't matter if it's "only" a 2.0 battery given you get that, the old slow charger, the sockets, and the bag--all for this price. You will want to get a 4Ah or better battery (or a 3.0 Octane if you can find one anywhere) to get the most power out of the tool; but one can always do that later on some other promo.

Saw stock at the Langford store when I was there today. Same model I have, otherwise I would have bought one.

Solid deal for sure.

Easily. It probably can do tire change for 10 cars with one charge.

The 1/2” Ridgid impact wrench can do some serious work. I had no issue working on old suspension parts with this beast. With 450 ft/lbs of torque, it will pretty much remove anything. You gotta be careful not to overtighten things!

It's tempting. I'd have to sell my corded mastercraft one. I'm gonna wait for the one with 4ah battery. I already have enough sockets.

Might be a silly question, but does it work well enough when you convert this to 1/'4" female for use as a impact driver? I do see converters for sale, so technically it works. The driver becomes longer and is heavier than a dedicated 1/4" impact, wondering if an all-in-one is a bad idea. Does anyone use it this way? My gut says no, stick to a smaller, lighter 1/4" driver which are just about as expensive.
