[Home Depot] Ridgid 18V cordless hand vacuum $129 on sale for $58.88

In Orleans its marked $129 tool only, it rang in at $58.88. So I applied the SCOP rule and received a extra $10 off. $49 plus tx. YMMV?
Edit, I got lucky on the extra $10 off, title changed.

Are these worth $50? Is it the same as the ryobi one? I've heard that the ryobi one isn't amazing. I know the rigid one is regularly priced at $129 so this is quite the discount. But not sure if it's even worth 50-60?

Hopefully owners can chime in.

I’m pretty sure you don’t actually qualify for SCOP if it rings LOWER than shelf price. Doesn’t it only apply if it scans HIGHER than the price tag? I would think your “YMMV” tag is very applicable. I doubt many cashiers are going to give the extra $10 off.

How does this compare with a Black and Decker 16v or 20v cordless vacuum for cleaning the car?

SCOP only applies on marked price lower than scanned price. Not reverse.

I thought scop works either way because its an error “ the price does not mach the scan”. I think it is a consumer protection law?

It is not law, except in Quebec. Everywhere else it is a voluntary program.

It is not supposed to apply “either way” though. It’s only if it scans above marked price.

EDIT: here’s some reading for you to clear it up.

Can't compare as I don't have a B&D.

This is my experience though. Good suction. A bit loud. Attachment is not tight enough such that I hold it so it doesn't come off. Practical same battery and LSA warranty as other Ridgid tools.

Seems to have good reviews and also LSA. I think descent deal if you have the batteries.

Lol ! Seems silly for sure, but i was under the impression it was all about “scanning accuracy” so i tried and got it. Hahaha. I did have some doubt in my mind about asking.

Took a closer look and I don't think this would work well for cleaning a car. The crevice tool looks way too short.

I currently use a Black & Decker 16V hand vacuum with extendable crevice tool (https://www.amazon.ca/DECKER-CHV1410L-L ... B006LXOJC0), and appreciate the length of the crevice tool in reaching tight spots in the car. I don't think that would be possible with the Ridgid.

Got excited, then read reviews, meh.

Hunt for the portable car vacuum continues.

Too bad my trusty old shark broke and the new ones are all full of bad reviews and complaints too.

Reviews are quite mixed.. many (most?) are quite happy with it.
